Musings of a Red Hat Knitter about her knitting passion and her life. Wednesday, February 28, 2007. This is one of the reasons I was in Ames, Iowa over the weekend. I taught this scarf project to teach the concept of Shadow/Illusion knitting. The technique seems to originate from a Japanese knitting book, but has become popular in this country due to Vivian Hoxbro's book,. And patterns of Maureen Mason-Jamieson. www.kinverknits.cjb.net. Patterns have also been in. Posted by Red Hat Knitter @ 4:23 PM.

Loves socks, and most other knitted items. Sunday, April 29, 2012. Visit to Yarnover 2012. Minnesota Knitter's Guild event) meant spending a little time at The Yarnery. Booth in the market. The Yarnery's self-published book Wearwithall. Is fabulous. The little taupe and coral mitten in the center was my test-knit project for the book. Super cute. Then off to class with Susanna Hansson. And this one where we learned about "tweeked" and, of course, not tweeked. There was yarnly goodness in the market:.

Friday, July 26, 2013. Too Many Hand-knit Sweaters. I took all the hand-knit sweaters out and put them on the bed. I count 30 here, but that doesn't count the short-sleeved ones and those knit in cotton. Those I had actually organized before I thought abut snapping some photos. There are only about a dozen of those, so that was easier. Unfortunately this is the space I had to put them back into. The two stacks on the right are the cotton and short-sleeved sweaters. But I managed it! Links to this post.

Friday, February 4, 2011. Kauni effektgarn Thistle design and The Knit-a-Journey retreat. I started on this sweater using Kauni effektgarn. Adding one more picture after finishing the neck opening and cutting open the armholes. It looks so much better this way. In January I helped host a retreat for listeners of Susan Dolph's Knit a journey podcast. On a very cold, but sunny day. We visited two local yarn shops, we played games and sat and knitted and chatted. It was a lovely weekend. Links to this post.

Wednesday, April 14, 2010. I made some awesome batts! Oh, I just love my drumcarder! She is awesome. I will sing the praises of the Fancy Kitty high and low. She made these batts:. Which spun up like this:. The little skein from leftovers spun up like butter! I want to keep these batts rather than put them in the Etsy store, but I have to be good. I'm building inventory slowly, and have yet to post anything in the store, but it's coming. This weekend is Yarnover. The following weekend I'm planning an ent...
