Knit the Knits: July 2009
http://knittheknits.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
And purl the purls. Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Is she still knitting socks? Yes, she is. I've finished the Spiralling Socks:. And while I think the yarn is perfect for the job, I'm not so enamoured with the actual pattern. The hunt was therefore on for a toe-up pattern that was a little more roomy than this one. I liked the look of the Mojo socks. But I also liked the look of Judy Gibson's " You're putting me on Socks. With calculations for using two circular needles. They are very comfortable. The second J...
Knit the Knits: Home Again, Home Again
http://knittheknits.blogspot.com/2012/07/home-again-home-again.html
And purl the purls. Saturday, July 21, 2012. Home Again, Home Again. Actually, I've been "home again" for quite a while now but what with the start of "Le Tour", the Olympic Torch coming right past the house and the incessant rain, there hasn't been much time/inclination for blogging. I've been knitting, though. Oh, Yes. I finished the Good Day Sunshine Challenge:. I've been chugging away on the Mona Lisa. But there really isn't much to show - and I'm still waiting for the remainder of the yarn. I follow...
Knit the Knits: One Thing Leads to Another
http://knittheknits.blogspot.com/2015/06/one-thing-leads-to-another.html
And purl the purls. Saturday, June 06, 2015. One Thing Leads to Another. If 'im indoors wants a sock, I'll have to have more sock yarn. (This is what I tell him. There is, in fact, enough sock yarn in the house to insulate a small igloo.) I tell him to get over to the Wool Warehouse. Where they happen to have a sale, and choose his colour/s. This is what he chose:. And I decided that he ought to have more socks (which, of course, equals more yarn). So I chose this for him:. There is a great review. For a...
Knit the Knits: June 2009
http://knittheknits.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
And purl the purls. Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Having finished the Jack Sparrow socks for 'im indoors, I have now embarked upon a second pair for #1 son. I'm using a different colourway to avoid the inevitable, "You're wearing my socks! From one or other of them:. I may also make more modifications to the pattern (which I hardly followed at all for the first pair). I used short row toes and heels just because there's no Turkish Cast-On. Then she speaks about the yarn over. I would have seen that "The heel i...
Knit the Knits: June 2015
http://knittheknits.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
And purl the purls. Friday, June 12, 2015. And it's usually lace. Actually, I haven't knitted any lace for yonks (technical term) and I was starting to get itchy fingers. Frost, flowers and leaves has been on my list for quite a long time and I've finally begun:. Not a great picture, but this is Thom Christophe's circular start, which is very like this one. I've finished chart 1 (round 66) and am almost done with the first repeat of chart 2. There she is in all her un-photogenic, pre-blocking glory.

The Whole Ball of Yarn(s). A journal of the things I do. Tuesday, February 08, 2011. Would have posted earlier, but. Knitting a blanket takes a really long time. Therefore, there will be many pictures in this post. Unfortunately, none of them will include Lilah, who refuses to pose today. Meet Lilah's "Big Girl" Blanket:. To show the scope and grandeur of this thing, I pinned it to the chain holding up our porch swing. You can see it's not a perfect square - more a rhombus. I'm cool with that. I am at a ...
