Knittianicus

Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Twenty five pairs and a jumper. There has been a WIP fest in a Ravelry group I hang out in. I felt I should make an effort. First off was the jumper of doom. Martin's jumper is made from New Lanark bulky wool using Elizabeth Zimmermann's Percentage System pattern. I cast it on in 2010 and it wasn't a particularly complicated project yet I kept putting it off and off. By Eunny Jang showing how to pick up the stitches and knit down. And it looks great! Can you see the join?

Knittianicus: Awesome Friends

http://knittianicus.blogspot.com/2014/07/awesome-friends.html

Saturday, July 19, 2014. I have awesome friends. I would love it if they lived closer so we could go out and drink wine and chat, but hey ho, we don't have everything. I have not been having the best time recently, struggling with loneliness, stress, frustration and general low-mood. So - some of my friends have done some amazingly touching things to cheer me up. And Katie (from Hilltop Cloud. Inside was an array of gifts, I am so lucky! Helen also added in some of Katie's camel/wool fibre (never spun ca...

Knittianicus: July 2012

http://knittianicus.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 20, 2012. I recently bought two skeins of Opal Van Gogh sock yarn. The first in sunflowers and the other in starry nights. Morgan decided the starry nights one was destined for him. I took them away to France with us and finally finished them on the ferry, on the way home. I love how they have turned out and fit me really well ;). And look. I finished the other ones too. Knittianicus: Hello there

http://knittianicus.blogspot.com/2014/03/hello-there.html

Monday, March 31, 2014. Well, well, well. It has been a long time. Rather than bore you with apologies and reasons I will dive straight in and show you something. Look at these little crochet squares. They are made from mini skeins of 4ply or scrap yarn. I made simple granny squares with the intention of making something for my daughter at some point. The colours are all a similar tone. Whenever I line them up though they are just so dull. So then I thought I might. Blimey, the difference is amazing!

Knittianicus: May 2014

http://knittianicus.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html

Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Mum, can you make me a sun hat? Orla needs a sun hat as it is very hot here this week, she doesn't have one (they all got binned in the move) and she is going on an all-day adventure tomorrow with no shade. She produced a pattern from her Sewing School book. Which although nice was completely impractical being made of fleece and having no rim at all. Designed to be a 'keep your head warm' hat and not a 'shade your face' hat. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Knittianicus: October 2010

http://knittianicus.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Friday, October 29, 2010. I have finally got round to posting off some baby knits for babies that were growing quickly! First up is another Elizabeth Zimmermann Baby Surprise Jacket. One of my favourite patterns. I made this using Schoppelwolle's Reggae Ombre in a gorgeous green. What a lovely yarn to work with. Super chunky. I teamed it up with some yummy brown buttons and a matching hat. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Watermark template. Template images by Jason Morrow.

Sho knits...: I know I know....

http://shoknits.blogspot.com/2008/08/i-know-i-know.html

And crafts and chats and generally mulls over the day. Wednesday, 6 August 2008. I know I know. I love these socks! These are tidal Waves but with some changes, ooo how brave do I feel lol! I made them short socks and carried the pattern down the top of the foot. The Dream in Color Smooshy yarn is so lovely to work with, really soft and the changes in tones are so subtle, will definitely be ordering lots more of this! Good luck with the ralympicavelryrace thing too xx. 8 August 2008 at 00:46.

Sho knits...: Moving to a new home

http://shoknits.blogspot.com/2008/10/moving-to-new-home.html

And crafts and chats and generally mulls over the day. Saturday, 11 October 2008. Moving to a new home. I have moved over to a new blog. This new home is where I can broaden my horizons and it fits my new altered life much better. I hope old friends will find their way over and can live with the fact that it might not be all knitting- don't get me wrong I still love it but I am making time for other things I love to do too! You can find me at Ever a Work in Progress. Have a great weekend! And sew to knit.

Sho knits...: June 2008

http://shoknits.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

And crafts and chats and generally mulls over the day. Sunday, 15 June 2008. I can only own up and say that it has taken so long to post these pictures as I have tried about 200 pictures and cannot take one that doesn't in some way look ridiculous so I have now thrown caution to the wind and gone with "over the top". As for the jacket - well I have to be honest and say I am a bit proud of this. Saturday, 14 June 2008. What a great day this has been! So tell me what made you smile today? I can’t wait.

Sho knits...: How wrong was I!!

http://shoknits.blogspot.com/2008/08/how-wrong-was-i.html

And crafts and chats and generally mulls over the day. Wednesday, 27 August 2008. How wrong was I! It seems that by the end there were over 4000 of us taking part in this challenge. Wow that is phenomenol by anyone's standards and a bit shout out to Ravelry and the folks over there that organised it all! On the downside however attempting two projects was a step too far and the scarf is sooooo far from finised lol, maybe by 2012. I think two projects was a bit ambitious! The mitts look great!

Sho knits...: A lovely week with added stash!

http://shoknits.blogspot.com/2008/07/lovely-week-with-added-stash.html

And crafts and chats and generally mulls over the day. Sunday, 20 July 2008. A lovely week with added stash! Been another busy but great week here. Went to a friend's wedding on Thursday and had a fabulous day. Sadly DH couldn't get the time off work so my lovely son escorted me. It was blowing a gale and although the heavens opened when the newlyweds left the church it brightened up into a gorgeous afternoon and evening. DS and me - running late as usual! The beautiful hotel where the reception was held.

http://shoknits.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

And crafts and chats and generally mulls over the day. Tuesday, 22 July 2008. The waving lace socks are finished! Now I loved this pattern and I loved this wool but I would not put the two together again. The lace pattern only needs a solid yarn and this yarn is so gorgeous with the tones that it can be seen to its best in a piece of plain knitting. Now onto the next. Sunday, 20 July 2008. And crafts and chats and generally mulls over the day. Saturday, 10 May 2008. First socks are done! Yay - I am so happy with these and I was staggered that I managed the toes and heels with no trouble. These are Priscilla's Dream Socks from Favorite Socks. Can't wait to pick which pair to knit next. I can totally see why people say socks are addictive! Thursday, 1 May 2008. I love this pattern. I got the pattern for Saartjes. They are so quick and easy to do and just so sweet too. Blogs I love to hop on.
