I've been in Knitting mode lately. It's something that got put on a back burner while I was busy with the kids. I have time now shuttling everyone around for lots of KIPing opportunities. I have a sewing room full of UFOs just waiting to be completed. I hope to clear up some space and keep track of it here. Some crocheting may also be seen. I learned to crochet as a child and hope to start playing with those hooks again, as well.

Cathy's Knitting and Crochet Notes. Friday, February 18, 2011. My brother, JJ, died a week ago today. I went back to West Virginia where the family lives for the funeral. He was one of my best friends and confidants. I talked to him at least once or twice a month and he always listened even when I talked about things he wasn't interested. Cathy's Knitting and Crochet Notes. Tuesday, February 1, 2011. A Trio of Hats. And found the perfect pattern. It's called the Subtle Twist Hat. By Jennifer Talleneni. I downloaded the pattern from Ravelry. But you can also download it from her blog here. I loved working on the hats. It was simple ribbing all the way up. Cathy's Knitting and Crochet Notes. Saturday, January 1, 2011. Second try and still not quite right. After, four attempts, I get both sleeves on so that everything lines up correctly and it finally looks great. I swear that the next sweater I knit is going to be seamless and when I finish knitting it will be done. NO SEAMS! It actually fits and he says that it is the most comfortable sweater he has ever worn. I may knit him another sweater, but I guarantee it won't take fourteen years for the next one.
