Sunday, November 25, 2007. I guess I really do need the weather to inspire projects. After a long summer hiatus, here's my first project of the season: a hat for my daughter made with Blue Sky alpaca-silk in a natural white. The pattern is my own. I definitely felt a new confidence coming back to knitting after a break. I'm less worried about making mistakes, more free and inventive. More intuitive about gauge. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Monday, February 12, 2007. I might really finish the Zipped Raglan (from LMKG) for L's birthday, which is a little more than a month away. It's slow going, but this morning when I threw the pieces on the floor to figure out how it was all going to fit together, I could imagine an actual sweater emerging from the chaos. The major obstacle I foresee right now is overcoming my resistance to making another sleeve. My husband has very long arms. Last minute knitted gifts. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

http://vikingmama.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
Have Ewe Any Wool? Wednesday, July 26, 2006. This past week I've done TONS of spinning and not too much knitting. Towards the 5 hrs. per week I committed to do for the Summer Spinning Challenge, I completed 8 hours of spinning.and that's in addition to the 2 1/2 hrs. of spinning I did on Monday with my regular spinning group! The 8 hours were divided between my drop spindle and two of my wheels (Lennie 2 and Louie). I spent about 1 1/2 hrs working with the drop spindle and 6 1/2 hours with my wheels.

Tuesday, January 9, 2007. So ever since I finished the EZ sweater, I've been dreaming about the next lace project. Seriously, I've been doing yarn overs in my dreams, that's how fixated I am. I have a couple of lace books that I've been studying, and now I'm just trying to decide which project to choose. My favorite pattern from Cheryl Oberle's Folk Shawls. I also would love to try Eunny Jang's Print o' the Wave. Stole That may be my favorite lace pattern of all, but it looks intimidating. Properly pract...

littlemamaknits: Playing
http://littlemamaknits.blogspot.com/2008/09/playing.html
Friday, September 5, 2008. Inspired by Jane Brocket's wonderful book, The Gentle Art of Domesticity. And Mason Dixon Knitting. I've been playing with color. I do think I naturally veer towards a muted palette, as in life I tend to be an understated person. But Brocket's book reminds me that playing is art and color is fun, especially unexpected color combinations. And some more color play:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
