Knitting on the Cam: November 2014
http://knittingonthecam.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 29, 2014. My Christmas cactus is a bit early this year, and only got the two flowers on the whole plant, but I always find it so great when it blooms at all! It usually lives in the bathroom where the light is better for plants, but we let it come into the dining room with its pretty flowers. Tonight we are having some friends over for dinner, so there is much fussing to be done. Unearth the table, and so on. Thursday, November 27, 2014. I went to the Textile Museum. I got pictures off...
Knitting on the Cam: July 2015
http://knittingonthecam.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 31, 2015. We were away for three weeks, in four distinct places, plus driving in between a couple. I'll just show you a few highlights. When we first arrived in the Interior of BC, there were forest fires all over the place. This is as we left the Okanagan Valley heading sort of east and south. Everything was hazy and we were all hoping for rain the whole trip. Our last week was spent in a cottage at Tofino. There's a park website. And another one that's quite informative. 50 or 60 cars.
Knitting on the Cam: May 2015
http://knittingonthecam.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 28, 2015. A museum, some buildings and a story. I did take over 300 pictures in Havana, and I'm sure you'd agree they're all simply masterpieces, but I'll round off the show-and-tell today! On our last day we stumbled across the Museo de las Artes Decorativas. In 1964, the government opened it as a museum, and I think some of the pieces on display are from the house and others may have once belonged to other pre-Revolutionary connoisseurs. A lot of the woodwork on the main floor was painted...
Knitting on the Cam: June 2015
http://knittingonthecam.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 26, 2015. Action, action, action. You might think things have been quiet around here, but no, we have been running to and fro like crazy. The school year has finally finished and Arthur has graduated! Last night was the graduation ceremony. Oh, my, very long! Of course, there is one kid who wins all the awards (Elaine counted; it was actually only six). Getting his art award. Getting his fake diploma; the real one is safely backstage in proper alphabetical order. We still have to enjoy the s...
Knitting on the Cam: Update on the chia pet
http://knittingonthecam.blogspot.com/2010/05/update-on-chia-pet.html
Thursday, May 27, 2010. Update on the chia pet. A while ago, I tried to sprout an old Chia pet. It was not a success. I ended up scraping all the old seeds off and throwing up my hands. I had a package of broccoli seeds, and they are just tiny enough to fit in Chia pet grooves, so I gave it a shot! They don't get that gooey coating when wet, and they stick to your damp fingers like seed beads or something - not fun, really. It didn't get much coverage, due to that lack of gooeyness! Friends Knit Together: Worth the Wait (Adriana)
http://friendsknittogether.blogspot.com/2008/09/worth-wait-adriana.html
Friday, September 12, 2008. Worth the Wait (Adriana). It's now 4:47pm and I have just enough time to finally blog about an amazing birthday package I got a few weeks ago (bad blogger! Sent me a belated birthday present but it was totally worth the wait. I picked it up at the post office and immediately opened the outer packaging right in the middle of the mall. Unfortunately Bertha thwarted my efforts by individually wrapping every gift. Look at them, so tantalizing and mysterious. Bertha, thank you so m...

It's fun :D. Here are some pictures of the new apartment (Can I please say how hard it is to take pictures of rooms? The place is much nicer in person). The kitchen with our old fridge. Knitting on Mars
Sunday, 9 May 2010. Good news this week; I've learned garter stitch and stocking stitch. Woo-hoo! Bad news; I've still not finished that swatch. These two pieces of news are actually closely related as it was whilst I was attempting to finish the swatch that I stumbled upon garter stitch. I had managed to knit sixteen rows and I was about halfway through the seventeenth when my conversation with J. (of Vet blogging. Apparently I had been unknowingly practicing stocking stitch. By alternating the stic...

Knitting on the Cam
Knitting on the Cam. I used to be on the Cam, but now I'm in Toronto, just knitting! My e-mail: marydeb40 AT yahoo DOT com. Sunday, March 25, 2018. Today we went out to the Beaches, a part of Toronto we venture out to once a year, or even less. Often a beach in the winter can be a bit miserable, with the cold wind blowing in off the lake, but to cheer things up, someone arranged a bunch of art installations. First up was a knitted thing. Giant. Pink. This next one was wild! These big red hanging pieces s...

COMFORT ZONE
Thoughts of a seasoned knitter. Friday, May 05, 2017. That’s the sound of some insidious, evil geek, hacking into and crashing my computer. It took a week and a few nicer geeks to get things back to almost normal. Almost! I don’t think my sweet little computer will ever be quite the same. I use a big, 17 inch HP laptop, on an angled stand with two fans blowing underneath. The fans are because it runs very hot. It’s not the kind of laptop you carry around under your arm. If it had only been that easy!
