Knitting On The Prairie

Knitting On The Prairie. Friday, December 21, 2012. Pushing the limits - time limits. I am busily working on a scarf for a Christmas gift. Knitting On The Prairie: Keepn' those iPods warm

http://www.knittingontheprairie.blogspot.com/2009/10/keepn-those-ipods-warm.html

Knitting On The Prairie. Saturday, October 17, 2009. Keepn' those iPods warm. These little sweaters not only help your electronic items look great, but more importantly, protects them. The hoodie featured in this post is knitted from handpainted 50% wool/50% silk - the colors are beautiful! The hoodie "body" is 3 1/2" square - enough room for a small digital camera, mp3, cell phone, etc. It stretches a bit, so there is extra room if needed. Posted by Martha Bachert. Knitting On The Prairie: July 2009

http://www.knittingontheprairie.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Knitting On The Prairie. Sunday, July 19, 2009. I need a bumper sticker that says "No time to blog, I have knitting to do" - or something like that. As I stated in earlier posts, I am on a mission to knit hand towels that can be used for daily jobs in the kitchen, lessening the use of so many paper towels. These knitted towels are beyond absorbent, and they look so nice hanging on the oven door or on a rack. Here is my latest towel. I call it the "oatmeal blues". I am going to post it on Etsy. The bows h...

Knitting On The Prairie: May 2011

Knitting On The Prairie. Sunday, May 15, 2011. A tisket a tasket . . . . Lots of felted hearts in a basket. One thing I tried, and liked the result of, is a row of crochet to join the front and back. The variegated heart above, on the bottom, is my first attempt of that, verses weaving. Once I get the result I am looking for, I will list them on Etsy. Posted by Martha Bachert. The Bachville Times: April 2012

http://thebachvilletimes.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Friday, April 27, 2012. A lot has been going one in our world but wanted to post that we lost our little Sophie last week. She had congestive heart failure first and many of the medicines used to treat that condition are hard on the kidneys. We let her go on April 17th as she was succumbing to renal failure. Thanks to friends and neighbors that came to the house, sent cards, brought flowers, called, left condolences on facebook and generally comforted us. You will never know what that meant to us. Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Four weeks to the day that Sophie left us - we welcomed little Lily into our home. To say that it was meant to be is a huge understatement. I never expected to get another dog as soon as this - but the circumstances presented an opportunity that meant Lily was destined to be ours. She is tiny but makes up for it in cuteness. She is smart and is learning the ropes around here. She fits in beautifully. She is pretty spunky! Posted by Martha Bachert. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Encore...

Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Green onions - grown from - green onions. Growing your own green onions from green onions was new to me when I saw it on Pinterest. Who knew? The photo below is three days of growth from onions I bought on Sunday. I keep them in the ledge of my kitchen window and keep the roots in water that I change out every other day You can get several "growings" from each bunch. This is super easy to maintain, saves money, and it is so handy to have fresh green onions available. Thank you ...

Friday, September 28, 2012. Sound of needles clicking again. I have been working on many projects but not consistently. Here is my latest work - lacy/scalloped hand towel - knitted with linen warp. I love how it is turning out so far. Posted by Martha Bachert. Wednesday, September 26, 2012. I love thrift stores and try to go into as I run across.
