The Knitwit: Tales of Knitting, Traveling, and Family: Happy Anniversary!
http://knitwit84.blogspot.com/2008/03/happy-anniversary.html
The Knitwit: Tales of Knitting, Traveling, and Family. Knit*wit - a silly or foolish person who just so happens to knit. Tuesday, March 18, 2008. My new spinning wheel (her name has been decided to be Briar Rose) and I have been together one month today. To celebrate, Dad and I made her a. We made it out of an old chair rung (the center piece) with some antique oil finish to bring out the wonderful detail. The end pieces Dad made for me based off of other niddy noddy's that we've seen.

The Knitwit: Tales of Knitting, Traveling, and Family. Knit*wit - a silly or foolish person who just so happens to knit. Sunday, March 30, 2008. My spinning wheel and I had our first date today. I packed her up in a Hefty XXL Ziploc Bag and we were on our way. (BTW, these bags are fantastic! They have handles and everything.). And if I must say so, I do believe it was a quite successful date! Briar Rose and I learned quite a bit. We are working together much more easily than before. She has gone to bed n...

Yarn Harlot: The 2006 Knitting Olympics
http://yarnharlot.ca/blog/olympics2006.html
The 2006 Knitting Olympics. Any knitter who, embracing the "Citius, Alitius Fortius" ideal, would like to challenge themselves while embracing the Olympic spirit, and is just whacked enough to play along with me. You must cast on a project during the Opening Ceremonies of the Winter Olympics (Feb 10)- and finish before the Olympic flame goes out (Feb 26). That's 16 days. 1 The project must be a challenge for you to complete in 16 days. 4 No casting on before the flame is lit. If you're just crazy enough.

Where Knitting projects are discussed and shown for the viewing public. Monday, January 03, 2011. I have a blog? I keep being reminded I have a blog. People ask me. Ravelry has the link RIGHT THERE. But I don't write. I read other people's blogs. I am fascinated by the volume of text people are producing every day. I am not there. I am simply not there. If only because the author amused me with her text. Posted by Laura W @ 8:01 PM. Sunday, March 15, 2009. Posted by Laura W @ 10:29 AM. Onward and upward,...
A Year of Afghans « 52 afghans in 52 weeks
A Year of Afghans. 52 afghans in 52 weeks. Afghan 34 – Warm Autumn Wrap. I made Warm Autumn Wrap in the school colors. The book has it in shades of Terra Cotta that are similar to each other. Before I started making this I didn’t even realize it was a ripple afghan. I thought it had a shell design. With the colors being so much different from each other it’s much easier to see the ripple pattern. Now we can look forward to a couple of lazy months. Afghan 33 – Rainbow Diamonds. Just about to go. Probably ...

Knitting With Samson's Hair
Knitting With Samson's Hair. Knitting beyond what I thought I was capable. Working beyond the hours established in the early 1900's. Laughing so as to keep my abs strong. Listening for the quiet sound of peace. Saturday, April 25, 2009. Knittin' and Teachin' Knittin' and Stuff. I was encouraged by students to whom I'd been teaching Entrelac to move forward with the beautiful Noro Silk Garden in the sock yarn. Couldn't say no to students, could I? I'm working on an intarsia. Got a New Car. Finally. Sh...

I know it has been a long time since I've shown my face around these parts, but I haven't forgotten. Let's just say life has got in the way.
