Knitwittering: September 2010

http://knitwittering.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

The sweater that unravelled. Sunday, 26 September 2010. Blue Floyd, Nautiloid. My friend Claire found this great pattern by Beth Skwarecki while looking for trilobite designs. I. I like to knit loosely so started on 2.75 mm dpns; less wear and tear on finger joints in the long run I think. This made a nice tight fabric for a firm stuffing with no stuffing showing through. Got me thinking about all the Molluscs I knew and Cephalopods; slugs snails squid octopuses and all the coiled shells and fossil speci...

The sweater that unravelled. Wednesday, 22 September 2010. Just like Father's; Part I, Wee Jumper. This looks like a nice pattern for a jolly wee jumper, big ribs and dropped sleeves.easy and relaxing? Hmm a husky collar. Could it be done with these 6 1/2 oz of frogged wool from the thrift shop? It says 7oz.Oooh.sky blue with a fluffy white garter stitch collar if there's not enough? Adage for today, always tidy up loose ends and joins carefully. Check it out; Deep Moss Ribbing; really scrunchy. Front fi...

KNITWITT | ….of my life and knitting…

8230;of my life and knitting…. August 14, 2013. I’m currently gobbling up the Raylan novels by Elmore Leonard. They are so good! Most people know the name Raylan Givens from the show on FX called Justified. It’s the show that got me to reading the novels. While the books have a different setting than the show, the main character, Raylan, a U.S. Deputy Marshal, is exactly the same. And honestly, isn’t that the biggest part of a story–the hero? Both the novels and show are good. I recommend them both.

Just another WordPress site. Sabrina’s Doll’s Sweater. This is a sweater I knitted for Sabrina’s doll, Lyra. I used 000 needles and lace weight yarn. Front view of the sweater. Lyra is two feet tall. Rear view of the sweater. Side view of the sweater. The pattern I used was a pattern from The Yarn Girl’s Guide to Knitting Beyond the Basics. It was adapted by user “Hana” on the Den of Angels BJD forum. Direct Link (must have Den of Angels account). Posted under Doll Items. Merry Christmas, mom!

Thursday, December 06, 2007. I managed to squeeeeeeeze another sock out of my leftover cashmerino. It was a real squeeze, the last row of grey has a join in the middle of the row (very naughty) but it was either that or I couldn't have finished it. I just need to hope I have enough stray bits to finish sewing up the top. Photos of the completed set will be up next week. Posted by knitwittery @ 6:16 AM. Monday, December 03, 2007.
