primitivepoint: working down handle
http://primitivepoint.blogspot.com/2015/05/working-down-handle.html
Something to think about.Archives. Saturday, May 16, 2015. Worked on the handle, getting it down to shape. I'm playing with the idea of putting some turk's head knots on it, just to keep with the "neo-tribal" look. If the wood ends up looking really nice, that choice will be harder. I think the lighter wood will contrast nicely with the knots though. We'll see. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Something to think about. 8211;–Ray Bradbury. Ron's Primitive Skills Blog. By The Red Embers: Pocket Knife & A Ring
http://mylesmulkey.blogspot.com/2015/06/pocket-knife-ring.html
Saturday, June 27, 2015. Pocket Knife and A Ring. Not much activity lately! Oak handle with some traces of medullary activity. Measurements are long forgotten haha. I also made a very simple silver wire ring inspired by an Anglo Saxon example at the British Museum. These are pretty fun and easy to make, and when using dead soft wire, you can do most of it with your fingers. I'll have some free time to devote to this type of work very soon, and more posts will follow. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

primitivepoint: June 2015
http://primitivepoint.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Something to think about.Archives. Monday, June 29, 2015. Made this eating spoon from a piece of local oak. I've tried identifying this oak, but have been unsuccessful so far. I spent quite a bit of time on this because the grain was so challenging, particularly on the handle, but I like how it came out. Links to this post. Thursday, June 25, 2015. Two out of white oak.
