First Light Woodworking: June 2010
http://firstlightwoodworking.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 24, 2010. Adirondack Chair - Part One. Chair parts cut and ready to assemble. First I cut the parts required for the chair. Having built a number of these, I have a set of templates made of hardboard to speed up the layout of most of the curved parts. Glue the leg assemblies now, I find this easier than bolting the chair to the body and then trying to add the arm support parts. Again, SS screws and waterproof glue. I drilled the holes for the arm attachment later in the process. Determine ...

First Light Woodworking: Sofa Tables
http://firstlightwoodworking.blogspot.com/2013/12/sofa-tables.html
Saturday, December 14, 2013. I was contacted recently by a friend of my neighbor to build 2 - 55" sofa tables for her home. She had difficulty finding exactly what she wanted at various furniture stores or on-line, or anything not made in China. Finished tables in clients home- 55" x 11" x29". The other requirement was a marble, slate, or limestone top. The tops you see are marble from a vendor in Madison, IN. As usual, the second one went together a lot quicker than the first. First Light Woodworking: September 2009
http://firstlightwoodworking.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 9, 2009. A Little Fun With Scraps. Found some hard maple, ambrosia maple, and some walnut in the scrap pile and made this Double 9 Domino set for my son and his kids. Each bones is 1"x 2" and is the ambrosia maple, the box is hard maple and assembled with finger joints, and the lid is walnut. No real design or pattern, just let it evolve as I went along. First Light Woodworking: September 2010
http://firstlightwoodworking.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Finished Sack Back Windsor. This is the Sack Back Windsor chair I made during my week long class at the Windsor Institute in late July. You can read about my experience in a previous blog posting. I chose the traditional milk paint finish and the color is a deep Windsor Green. Once the paint was dry, I finished it with danish oil to give it a nice sheen. Chair sanded and ready for the milk paint. Wednesday, September 01, 2010. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). First Light Woodworking: Pennsylvania Spice Box- some progress
http://firstlightwoodworking.blogspot.com/2014/10/pennsylvania-spice-box-some-progress.html
Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Pennsylvania Spice Box- some progress. Crown moulding on the left, base moulding on the right. The tools I used to make the moulding are shown below. A pair of #6 and #8 hollow and rounds, a 7/8" rabbet plane, and a Stanley #66 beading plane which came in handy to cut the bead on the face of the crown moulding. Base moulding shown in the tray held by a bench dog and tail vise. The back is a splined panel made of 1/4" Ash and slides up and into the back dadoes and rabbets.

First Light Woodworking: December 2009

Sunday, December 13, 2009. Chair Progress - A 6 Pack. If you don't like mortise and tenon, don't build these chairs :) The are 22 of them per chairs so I cut a total of 132, not counting the ones I screwed up. I think overall the chairs came out well and I will post some photo's of the upholstered chairs after we return from the Christmas trip. Sunday, December 13, 2009. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
