Meatloaf. Really. | Carolina Odyssey

A native Californian's long strange trip in a foreign land: the American South. October 11, 2009 in food. The barbecue sauce I used is called Southern Twang, and it was really good in the meatloaf. You could use another good quality sauce instead, but if you want to try something new you should find or order some Southern Twang here. Dad’s White Meatloaf. 1 lb ground turkey. 1 lb ground chicken. 1 lb ground pork. 1 tsp crushed dried rosemary. 1 tsp dried thyme. 1 tsp dried rubbed sage. 1 tsp black pepper.

We Love Lasagna | Carolina Odyssey

A native Californian's long strange trip in a foreign land: the American South. December 14, 2009 in Uncategorized. Made this tasty lasagna for dinner tonight, adapted from a recipe on eatingwell.com. The kids loved it as much as Cameron and I did; all 3 of them asked for seconds. Cate was disappointed to find out she has hot lunch at school tomorrow, a McDonald’s McChicken sandwich, because she wanted to take leftover lasagna for lunch. That’s why I love cooking for the family. 1 red bell pepper, chopped.

It’s been so drainingly, repulsively, miserably hot and dry here for longer than I can remember. The weather, like my mood, hasn’t changed in weeks. So this afternoon, after raking up the early drop of pine needles from the front yard in advance of the coming storm, I decided to head to the store and get some comfort food to cook for dinner.
