Knots Indeed: January 2015
http://knotsindeed.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
A blog on netting. Saturday, January 31, 2015. Platter Doily, with Netted Border from Tatting and Netting. Here is the scollop edge from a Platter Doily, with Netted Border from page 126 of Tatting and Netting. These scollops were made separately and sewed onto the center cloth. The book shows the entire doily with all twelve scollops fastened in place. I just made one sample. Saturday, January 24, 2015. Netted Scollop for Scarfs from Tatting and Netting. A blog on netting. Saturday, August 29, 2015. Second of Trimmings from The Young Ladies' Journal Complete Guide to the Worktable. On page 127 of. The Young Ladies' Journal Complete Guide to the Worktable. There are instructions given for two net Trimmings, items 20 and 22. An illustration of that pattern is given on page 125. Last week I showed number 20, here is number 22, also without the "row of darning-stitch . . . worked in scallops at each edge of the star patterns" (rows 9 and 11). Row 14: #6 knit...

A blog on netting. Saturday, July 25, 2015. Netted Tab (as an edge) from Tatting and Netting. I liked the way the Netted Tab looked on page 146 of Tatting and Netting. Or page 149 of this version. Make a net chain of 24 knots (12 loops) over a 1/8" flat mesh stick. Place the loops on one side of the chain on a foundation loop. Row 1: Net 1 knot in each loop over a 1/8" flat mesh stick. Row 2: Net 1 knot in each loop over a 5/8" flat mesh stick. Row 3: Net 1 knot in each loop over a 1/8" flat mesh stick.
Knots Indeed: November 2014

A blog on netting. Saturday, November 29, 2014. Netted Edging from Tatting and Netting. Some netting patterns in Tatting and Netting are very easy to follow. Everything is correct and the finished product matches the photo in the book. Netted Edging, on page 116 of Tatting and Netting. Is that kind of pattern. Recently I re-made the two juggling bags so I could photograph them side-by-side. The one with the red top has 100 knots, while the one with the blue top has 108 knots. Saturday, November 22, 2014.
Knots Indeed: Border of a Square for Neck-handkerchief, Fichus, etc. from Tatting and Netting
http://knotsindeed.blogspot.com/2015/08/border-of-square-for-neck-handkerchief.html
A blog on netting. Saturday, August 8, 2015. Border of a Square for Neck-handkerchief, Fichus, etc. from Tatting and Netting. The square of netting found on pages 147-148 of Tatting and Netting. Caught my attention when I was looking through the book. The edge, though, is hard to see exactly what is happening. However, I am currently netting edges, so that's what I made. Row 1: Net an odd number of loops in the foundation loop over a #3 knitting needle or 1/8" flat mesh stick. The sample used 9. This blo...

Monday, April 30, 2012. Here are the slippers pre-felting. They are rather loose and not sturdy at all. Here they are post-felting. Now they are a dense sturdy fabric. I sewed bottoms on to make them less slippery and to help them last longer. Of course I got them done as the weather turns summer, but they are will be nice if it turns cold again, or in the fall. Monday, April 16, 2012. Here I have a lovely finished sweater. It has been knit, and seamed, and washed, and blocked. And now it has buttons!
