NorthernBaby: October 2014
http://northernbaby.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 30, 2014. It's that time of year again - the time where millions of innocent pumpkins are hacked up and turned into jack-o-lanterns. With all the trouble it was, NorthernDaddy thinks that the time for LittleNortherner to carve his own pumpkins is coming up fast. Skip the sharp knives - see if the little man can cut details while using a plastic knife and a spork! Monday, October 20, 2014. Are You Kidding Me? Doesn't play with dolls. This came in the mail the other day:. In the house is a.

NorthernBaby: September 2014
http://northernbaby.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 26, 2014. The faithful, long-time companion of the Northerns has completed its service. After fourteen years of highway travel, commuter duty, and NorthernDaddy. Beating on it like a stolen pony. Hauling some unusual items, the trusy Prizm is being put out to pasture. It was comfortable, fuel-efficient, and dependable. It earned more than its keep. It required very little maintenance and went surprisingly well in the snow. It was a Very Useful Car. Monday, September 22, 2014. Note to no...

NorthernBaby: May 2014
http://northernbaby.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 19, 2014. As NorthernMommy puts it, NorthernDaddy "processed" the chickens the other day. As NorthernDaddy puts it, he set up a station for bleeding the birds, a station for scalding the birds, a station for plucking the birds, and a station for gutting the birds. Then he went through all of those stations with six individual birds, with breaks for packaging them up for the freezer. Then, there was clean up - washing everything down with bleach and putting it away. The bird that dies the wors...

NorthernBaby: March 2014
http://northernbaby.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 14, 2014. 3/14just another day, right? Not according to the math geeks. It seems that, because people who enjoy playing with numbers needed a reason to party, and 3/14 is the calendar representation of the first three digits of Pi, today is an unofficial holiday. Pi Day. Yucky, store-bought pie. Not worth celebrating. LittleNortherner did not know about Pi Day. Don't try to explain Pi to him. He doesn't even know what fractions or the decimal system are. He knows pie, though, and. Basically...

Saturday, September 21, 2013. Look at the license plate.Special Ed, indeed. Pick up at the after-school program on Friday found a table full of young children eagerly stuffing cornstarch through a funnel into balloons. What were they making? Umjust how much pressure are kids under these days? Is society so crazy and life so busy that a bunch of Kindergarten and Elementary students. A stress ball to relieve their worries? Thursday, September 19, 2013. After school - no more tie! Monday, September 16, 2013.

NorthernBaby: February 2014
http://northernbaby.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 19, 2014. D* * Duck Door. Time for a quick update on the Northerns' farm. More specifically, the poultry (because there's no gardening going on this time of year). The chickens are doing their normal winter-time thing, which is to eat tons of feed, refuse to lay eggs, and do their best to avoid the cold white stuff that invades their run. The Northerns did lose one hen last month - best guess is that she was on the bottom of the pecking order and didn't get enough feed to stay warm.

NorthernBaby: Spring?
http://northernbaby.blogspot.com/2015/04/spring.html
Friday, April 3, 2015. Twenty-four days ago, the town posted the road across from the house. Normally, this is the surest sign of Spring arriving; of Winter loosening its grip on the land. NorthernDaddy has posted on this phenomenon before, and how the event is looked upon as a reason to celebrate. The only bright side has been today's 60 degree temperatures - hands have thawed enough to type coherent sentences and finally celebrate the arrival of Spring! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

NorthernBaby: Payback
http://northernbaby.blogspot.com/2015/04/payback.html
Saturday, April 4, 2015. NorthernDaddy must have a faulty memory. He's a little fuzzy on many of the details of his early years, but he remembers being a generally good child. He's sure that there must have been some incidences of coloring on the walls or spilling grape juice on the rug, or something like that. Apparently, Daddy's memory blocked those destructive behaviors out and, as a punishment for believing he was a perfect child, he's getting payback. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

NorthernBaby: December 2013
http://northernbaby.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 29, 2013. NorthernDaddy would like to let everyone in on a secret: Calm is an illusion in the Northern household. (If you know LittleNortherner, maybe it's not so much of a secret.). If the scent doesn't calm the child, maybe he'll be mesmerized by the flame.). As you can see, the candles are merrily flickering away - and infusing the kitchen with a pleasing mix of vanilla, lavender, and .um.what does sandalwood smell like? EXCEPT.except there is this guy. Who won't stop talking. Goo...
