Mammoth Hot Springs in arty-farty b and w. Some black and white photos from Mammoth Hot Springs. I think they turned out fine. In a lot of them, it looks like they're wintry stuff when in reality the water holds around 80 degrees celcius. Other photos look post-apocalyptic. Surely, this must be a winter scene.

The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Monday we dropped in at Artists Point to take pics of the so-called Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and the Yellowstone river. It is indeed a mighty view. The hills are aliiiiiiiive.". I love those Alpine meadows. All sorts of wildflowers in all colors grow here. From the bend in the road where they stopped traffic because of the limited parking up at Logan. We waited for appx. 45 mins and were then allowed to drive up in groups. Is a range just to the east of Albuquerque, New Mexico. You can drive all the way to its highest point, at 10,678 feet (3,255 m). The side facing Albuquerque is quite steep, but on the eastern side it's a nice, lazy drive up the hill. Panoramic views out over Albuquerque. Views towards the east. Links to this post.

Return to Old Faithful. Monday we went to see Old Faithful erupt. I've always felt geysers were the least interesting of the many attractions of Yellowstone and my opinion has not changed. Still, it's interesting to see the many deadly things around ground and to watch the old giant erupt. Ask a Norwegian (English).
