Wednesday, March 2, 2011. I read somewhere that kids will typically try any food - if it's served on a stick. Koala (age 3) loves fruits and vegetables, but is hesitant to try new ones. He had not tried brussel sprouts before - so I thought I better get creative. I had some lollipop (or cake pop) plastic sticks on hand. I served the brussel sprouts with a stick in the top. He still seemed skeptical, but when we showed him it looked like a lollipop he was sold! He had 4 or 5 - he kept asking for more.

Thursday, January 8, 2009. Well, Austin decided to try his hand at grilling this new year and I thought he did pretty good! Especially for a guy who never sets food in the kitchen, except to microwave canned chili. We had a few people over and thankfully, Austin didn't burn the house down. I discovered the only beer I like is Smirnoff, only because it doesn't taste like beer. But then it made me really sleepy, so that was lame. We played some Wii Sports and hope to have a tournament eventually.
