Life in Upstate New York. Sunday, July 19, 2015. Anyone seen a Life Guard at Roger’s Rock? I spoke with several “frequent flyers” to the rock and apparently life guards have gone by the way of the carrier pigeon. Extinct. Not that this stops anyone from going into the water but how much does a life guard cost from 9 am to 5 pm? How much is a wrongful death suit running these days? Are not being observed and some of the mouths are pretty filthy. Trying to find camp staff after hours is a snipe hunt.

Life in Upstate New York. Sunday, March 22, 2015. Some Winter this has been a (insert nasty word here….). Zero minus 10 days to trout season…. I am so ready for:. Not paying National Grid another enormous bill (when we spent 40K to upgrade everything on the house to save energy costs). Not walking 2/10ths of a mile uphill in the freezing freaking cold with 35 mph wind in my face to work. Engaging in the urban version of NASCAR to work every morning with 6-12 inches of snow to make it more interesting.
