July 29, 2015. I proposed the plan to drive to Nauvoo a few months ago and fortunately, Landon agreed! It worked out even better when we realized we could meet Laura's family there on the same day! February 23, 2015. It seems like every year Valentine's Day requires more and more effort, which also equals a lot more fun. Landon's mom made these cute kids for all of the grandkids to decorate a Valentine house. The kids loved it and they turned out very "sweet.". We also made some yummy heart cookies because you can't have Valentine's Day without doing that! The scarf that I cut up to make the monster eyes. :). Of course, Valentine's Day also means Heart Hair! Here are our "Heart do's" this year:.

July 24, 2015. We had a super fun 4th of July. The kids enjoyed Scera park where we all became US Citizens. :). I love how Zach is looking at Chewbaca when we went to watch the balloons launch very early in the morning. Ezra insisted on having his picture taken with the "creepy guy". These were the favorite balloons! We also had fun at the Stadium of Fire although I think we are all suffering from hearing loss now because it was so loud! Next year I'm bringing ear plugs! July 28, 2015. On our drive home, we took a different route and stopped by some more church history sites that I had never been too. The first was Adam-Ondi-Ahman. It was so beautiful and I can just imagine the community there someday! This is the kids standing on Preacher's Rock there and we could hear them way below where we were. July 28, 2015. On a cold and rainy day in Nauvoo we decided to take a quick drive over to Carthage Jail. We watched a movie about what took Joseph Smith there and then got a tour. The kids have heard these stories so many times I think it was really special to go to the sites where things happened. Mackenzie sticking her finger in the bullet hole. Sunday, November 13, 2016. Our final activities on Saturday October 29th were the Dicks Trunk-or-Treak and our Ward Truck or Treat. Yep The line was that long. This was taken after we finally reached the cars. The line wraps around the parking lot. We probably waited for at least 30 minutes. The employees decorated their cards and they handed out a lot of candy. Or kids buckets were full. Tanner loved helping Dad pass out the Candy more than trick or treating himself! The boys dint' seem to notice the decorations as much as looking for who had candy to give out. Russell was a hit. Eveyone kept telling me how cute his costume was. Sunday, November 6, 2016. The view was really spectacular! We stopped at McDonalds for lunch and then went to see the Cedar City temple grounds. It is going to be a beautiful temple and the location is really nice. I really hope to come to the open house next year. We stoppe at the Scipio petting zoo on the way home to let the kids get out. It's free, but since it was "closed" we couldn't see too many of the animals up close. I really wanted the boys to see the camel, but he was pretty far back.

Monday, September 28, 2009. Grandpa and Grandma Mecham took us fishing Saturday. The boys were so excited.the girls, well.not so much. But we put on happy faces, and Grandpa bought a pink fishing pole for the princess; so that helped. Jonas caught the first fish,and it was a beauty.
