Through their hard work and perserverance and with the assistance of the Shire of Kojonup the Kojonup Tourist Railway Inc is an active volunteer organisation that is working towards the preservation of the 12 km of line between Kojonup and the Farrar siding. History of KTR Inc. In 2002 after the required inspection, work orders could not be completed and the train was not permitted to run on the line. The Zoo train was already in our possession and as the official opening of Kodja Place coincided with Wildflower weekend we arranged permission from Main Roads Department and local Police to run the Zoo Train on the roads. This has been the only time the Zoo train has been used. 2003 and 2004 the train ran as it did in 2000 and 2001. Kojonup Railway Station 1975.

In 2005 the Heritage Council assessed the Railway Station Building and the original Goods Shed, both of which are being heritage listed along with the trees along the railway which were planted in the early 1900's. Confirmation of this heritage listing was confirmed in 2007. The Heritage Council describes the Kojonup Tourist Railway as:. The Kojonup Tourist Railway Inc is run entirely by volunteers. The types of positions availble are:. Train Driver, Guard, Station Clerk, Restoration Assistant, Engineers, General Hands. We are always looking for more volunteers to do an assortment of roles, from dipping sleepers, to doing up old trains and carriages to assisting with training, becoming a train driver or a guard and various other roles. So if you have a few spare hours, please contact us as you will be most welcome.
