Sunday, January 8, 2012. 17-19 Dec 2011 Fox Glacier. 17 Dec 2011 Sat. We drove off at 9am, ready for a long drive after 3 days “rest” in Queenstown. The familiar ding dong sound came up to remind us that the driver has not fastened his/her seatbelt (a familiar sound we got too used to daily). We first drive to Wanaka to feed the ducks as well as ourselves. Sunny day as opposed to the gloomy Wanaka we saw the other day. Then we drove on alongside Lake Hawae to the west coast. I have no idea how the miners survived the harsh winter in houses like these. Even summer is already so cold! We still see some muds on the road and clearing effort ongoing thanks to the flood. Shangrila Trip 8-16 Aug 2009. Intro to the rivers. O understand Yunnan,. One need to understand the three rivers that flow parallel to each other. The rugged landscapes, the formation of town and villages, the economic actitives, everything that gives Yunnan a distinct taste stemmed from the fact that it is blessed by these 3 rivers. Wednesday, January 26, 2011. The tuk tuk driver came and picked us up to the airport. It wasn't a long ride. We bought corns for light dinner before boarding. The meals on the plane is so light that it hardly fill any part of my stomach. On hindsight, should have done the Medan style with EK last time, have a sumptious meal before catching the flight haha.
