An Update on the current VOG conditions in Kailua Kona, from a personal view point. Wednesday, August 20, 2008. Kona Vog - Before and After. I get a lot of people asking about the VOG and its effects on us. This is not caused by the usual Lava flows we have, what this is - is a new vent that opened up and is spewing out mostly VOG - no real lava coming from this vent, you know what - let me attach a photo of the vent!
