Korean Adventures

Sunday, July 14, 2013. On the bottom is the fish tank. There is a pump in the right rear that pumps water from the tank up to the first grow bed. The water flows in at the right rear. The plants are in 2" cups that hang just low enough that they barely touch the water. There are 3 strawberry plants, 2 lettuce plants, a couple Swiss chards and a cucumber plant in here. I think eventually this will be half strawberries and half leafy greens such as lettuce, Swiss chard or spinach. Here is a better view to ...

Korean Adventures: BearTree Park

http://www.koreanadventurefamily.blogspot.com/2013/07/beartree-park.html

Friday, July 5, 2013. We went to BearTree park south of Cheonan today with some friends from our bldg. From that bridge you could feed the Koi. As soon as we walked onto the bridge, they started coming from all over the pond. They just kept on coming. It got pretty ridiculous! They were pushing each other out of the water. Isaac thought it was funny. He got his hair cut today. Conrad needs a haircut. If you count Delainey's doll, we had 4 people looking at the same time for this pic. I think Delainey is ...

Korean Adventures: April 2013

http://www.koreanadventurefamily.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, April 13, 2013. Today we went to Gakwonsa Temple in Cheonan. Like most old stuff in Korea we had to walk up some stairs to get there. And then up a stone path. This guy was at the end of the path. His name is Amita-Bul. That's me on the right. Jacqui and Conrad were close behind. We brought the other kids along as well. Near Mr Bul were some temples. I felt weird taking pictures here cause everyone was bowing. It felt like taking pictures during church. They have a bell. We walked up a trail.

Korean Adventures: Chuncheon Dakgalbi Festival

http://www.koreanadventurefamily.blogspot.com/2013/07/chuncheon-dakgalbi-festival.html

Saturday, July 6, 2013. This is Dakgalbi St. in Chuncheon. Almost every restaurant on this Street sells Dakgalbi. They bring the food out as a pile of white cabbage under a pile of rice noodles under a pile of spicy chicken that has been cut into bit size pieces. You can put it on a leaf or just eat it straight from the pan. Conrad says "Dakgalbi is number 1! Isaac seems to like it. Todd and I liked it. We had both eaten here before many times. Just not in the last 9 years for me and 11 for Todd. Any goo...

Korean Adventures: June 2013

http://www.koreanadventurefamily.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 23, 2013. Near where we parked, there were some giant mushrooms that you can rent to stay in. After a short walk up a steep hill there was a waterfall and the path forked. Delainey decided we should take the steep path. Jacqui, Delainey, and Conrad taking a break. The top of that path opened up to a big field. The hilltop in the background was our destination after leaving the field area. We thought it looked like a nice place to take a picture. One with less kids. Me, John, and Arely waitin...

June 20, 2008. I woke up a few times in the shelter – there were a few groups of people who had set alarms for 3 am – I assume they wanted get to Banyabong by sunrise. I finally packed up my sleeping bag around 5:30, and was on the trail by 6. Nogodon pass was pretty in the morning sun. Who on earth takes an umbrella backpacking? 8217; looks from everyone else, who all had kimchi and many of them had either something involving tuna or meat in a leaf. June 12, 2008. Adventures in Korean | He who does not know foreign languages does not know anything about his own. ~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Kunst and Alterthum

He who does not know foreign languages does not know anything about his own. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Kunst and Alterthum. May 30, 2012 in Odds and Ends. But maybe once I get back into the swing of it, I’ll post a little more about studying the language. January 2, 2012 in Uncategorized. Here’s an excerpt:. The European Korean Kid. Tags: ...
