Korean Language Notes: January 2014

https://koreanlanguagenotes.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

Things I notice while studying the Korean language. Monday, January 27, 2014. What is the difference between 卽 (즉) and 卽經 (즉경)? 卽 (즉) can sometimes mean "then," but it can also have the meaning of 卽時 (즉시), which means "at once" or "immediately." The meaning "immediately" implies present action or present tense, but what if you wanted to use it to describe past action? Monday, January 27, 2014. Links to this post. Wednesday, January 15, 2014. https://koreanlanguagenotes.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Things I notice while studying the Korean language. Monday, June 08, 2015. Is the past perfect tense alien to Korean? I am going to use examples from a page on the " Korean Language Nerd. Web site, which promotes the Korean past perfect tense, to show that past perfect tense is not needed in Korean. Korean Language Nerd wrote the following:. 작년 한국에 왔어요 (past tense). Last year (I) came to Korea. 작년 한국에 왔었어요 (past perfect tense). Last year (I) have visited Korea. Korean Language Nerd wrote the following:.

Korean Language Notes: What does 人人親其親, 長其長, 而天下平 mean?

https://koreanlanguagenotes.blogspot.com/2015/02/what-does-mean_13.html

Things I notice while studying the Korean language. Sunday, February 15, 2015. What does 人人親其親, 長其長, 而天下平 mean? Literary Chinese has a basic sentence structure of Subject-Verb or Subject-Verb-Object, so a character's position in a sentence usually determines rather it is the subject, verb, or object of that sentence. The following sentence is a clever example of how it works. 親 - parents; to love. 其 - his, her, its, their. 長 - elders; to respect elders. 天下 - the world. 平 - level; peaceful. 내가 아는 단 한 가지.

Korean Language Notes: What does 不必疊床 mean?

https://koreanlanguagenotes.blogspot.com/2015/07/what-does-mean_11.html

Things I notice while studying the Korean language. Saturday, July 11, 2015. What does 不必疊床 mean? When I was translating the 1882 Korean document in the post below this one, I came across the following expression:. There is no need (不必) to stack (疊) floors (床). In the case of the diary entry in the post below this one, they had already inspected a place on Ulleungdo called "Big Hwangto Cove" ( 大黄土邱尾 - 대황토구미),. Korean Wikipedia article on the City of Gumi seems to confirm that. Saturday, July 11, 2015.

01.10 | from somewhere over the rainbow

http://mysesang.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

From somewhere over the rainbow. Enero 01, 2010. Where do ...

http://mysesang.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

From somewhere over the rainbow. Febrero 25, 2010. Estos dias estoy tratando de ver "You're beautiful" (미남이시네요)! Me parece un drama super chevereeeee. aunque el plot me recuerda un poco a Hana Kimi con una mixtura de Coffee Prince. jejejej pero la historia si es muy original, romantica y a la vez muy comica. no reia tanto desde My Girl. Recien voy en el cap 7. a ver como acaba, cuando lo acabe. En estos 56 dias han pasado muchas cosas. tantas que contar. bueno aunque los grandes acontecimientos s...Ya fu...

Can’t wait to see this one! On January 12, 2012 in Seoul Days. I found an article over at the Matador Network entitled “ The 5 worst pizzas in the world. 8221; and generally felt that they didn’t look that bad (perhaps excluding the first one pictured) poorly executed but conceptually within the realm of pizzas I know and love, particularly the final two. Epic Meal Time has been a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine as of late and I just watched their first episode. Via Dominos.co.kr. Beat that, World!

Korean Language Notes

Things I notice while studying the Korean language. Saturday, July 29, 2017. Why 조카딸 instead of 계집조카 for the word "niece"? 조카 means "nephew," and 딸 means "daughter," so why does 조카딸 mean "niece" instead of "nephew's daughter"? Doesn't "girl nephew" (계집조카) make more sense than "nephew's daughter" (조카딸)? Saturday, July 29, 2017. Links to this post. Wednesday, July 26, 2017. How is 㔖 pronounced? Has anyone ever seen the above Chinese character? Below is a link to other Korean transliteration characters:.
