The Journey Home – My Adoption Story. Full Circle – From Adoptee to Adoptive Mother (Vietnam). I am a 40-year-old single woman living in the great state of New Jersey. I am currently in the process of adopting my first child from Vietnam – my DTV date (dossier-to-Vietnam) is 9/22. As an adult adoptee, I am truly thankful for adoption and believe it is a wonderful option for both children and parents. It’s a blessing in so many ways. Probably, lol. As I scramble to get ready for the trip, I realized that at long last, I will be a mother on Mother’s Day this year! The timing is perfect.🙂. We have checked most of the items off of our list and are now making the final preparations for our trip tomorrow. As luck would have it, we are traveling with three other families from our agency! A Pocketful of Miracles. A journal of life with my precious little girl Ellie, adopted from Vietnam in 2008. March 10, 2010. Happy 2nd Birthday, Ellie! My sweet girl turned 2 on Friday! How can that be? We had her 2 yr check up the day before. Other than having a little ear infection, everything checked out ok. Ellie is 21lbs 11oz and is 31. inches tall, placing her squarely in the 3rd percentile in height and weight. Still a peanut! Here are all my babies. On March 10, 2010. Happy birthday sweet girl!

Ellie loved sticking her tongue out to try to catch some snowflakes…unfortunately we couldn’t stay outside too long because it is super cold.
