Alice in Wonderland (2010). I am a fan of Tim Burton. And I am a fan of Johnny Depp. Surrealistic world of Alice; the idea, the book, the cartoon version, Svankmajer. S version and other versions and other derivations of that particular fantastical world. I am not a huge fan of Danny Elfman, but I recognize his talent. I am not a huge fan of 3D movies but I usually enjoy them. So what in the world happened with Burton's version? It is just terrible and left a bitter aftertaste, especially after all that ...

We all go a little mad sometimes.haven't you? Sunday, October 26, 2014. DARK NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW (Frank De Filetta, 1981, TV-USA). Four men seek Justice outside the Rule of Law but soon learn they must pay restitution with their own flesh, blood and bone. Director Frank De Filetta proposes a simple tale of lex talionis but imbues this made-for-TV with a vicious energy and subtext while framing compositions as if this was meant for the big screen. Is it Bubba’s elderly mother? Is it the little girl?
