Just another WordPress.com site. Hawks and Ducks and Woodpeckers… Oh my! Field Day 1 – The Ridges. September 11, 2010. Today was our first field trip for Ornithology (BIOS 471). The class, along with Miles and Susan, met at 7am at Irvine Hall. The temperature was about 50 degrees F, with clear skies. Some other birds briefly seen before leaving this site were the pileated woodpecker (PIWO), blue jays (BLJA), American robins (AMRO), the American crow (AMCR), and the chimney swift (CHSW).
