Emptied and cleaned out the greenhouse this week since nothing much else is going to happen in there with the colder weather approaching. Hummmn I asked myself….did we grow enough chillies? 8230; I now have a bag full in the freezer, a long strand in the airing cupboard and 5 pots of sweet chilli jam. More chillies.on the way to the airing cupboard for drying. Sweet chilli jam.a true greenhouse triumph. Filed under Food For Free.

View from the Potting Shed. Raku is the fastest and possibly most dramatic method of firing ceramics. It is a technique created for the vessels of the Japanese Tea Ceremony. Bisque ware is fired up to approximately 1000 C. in less than an hour – a normal glaze firing takes between 10-12 hours. Colours, but it is literally a black art and each pot that emerges is always intriguing. One response to “. May 28, 2010 at 6:30 pm. I have just bought your raspberry and love it! Handcrafting Pottery in North Carolina. Thursday, May 29, 2014. Oh, Peacock Feathers. Maybe they'll change the saying about horse feathers to peacock feathers. Recently Jim helped me set up for an out of town show and his comment was that they looked like eyes. Myself, I don't really see that. I just love how they change colors depending on the light. And, they let me incorporate all my new glaze tests together. Vicki Gill, potter. Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Vicki Gill, potter. Monday, May 19, 2014. Had a ...

Handcrafting Pottery in North Carolina. Saturday, April 19, 2014. Gosh, isn't this just glorious color? Driving through town when the redbud trees are blooming is amazing. Brilliant color- no subtleness to their spring declaration at all. My favorite is the really chrome tin purple color. SMACK, "Notice ME! They are saying. And I do, always wishing I could duplicate the color on some of my pots, but in a transparent way. Vicki Gill, potter. Labels: chrome tin purple. Sunday, April 13, 2014. When you look...

Handcrafting Pottery in North Carolina. Tuesday, August 19, 2014. A completed basket with braided handle. This piece was based on a photograph of a palm tree bark that I took in California. The grey glaze is one of the experimental ones I have been working on and black underglaze was used in the crevices and depressions that were carved in the piece. I love combining different handle options on these pieces. Vicki Gill, potter. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). You can sign up here. Just use this link.
