http://draltena.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
The Altena Family Welcome to our playground. Tuesday, August 18, 2015. 2015 - 2016 School Year is here! Kailee and Anika felt like pros with this whole school routine thing again. They started last week, August 12. We have fallen into "the norm" quite easily, BUT we haven't added all the extras yet, like music lessons and sports. One girl was happy to be going back to school.the other one not as much! Now this boy, on the other hand, WAS thrilled that he was going to preschool! Sunday, August 9, 2015.

The Altena Family Welcome to our playground. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. This jumping pad was at the KOA campground in Yankton. Hours of fun were spent here! Great-Grandma Altena joined in on all the fun! One of Dylan's bugs - it was a really neat green color! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Count your many blessings. Name them one by one. See what God has done. Stuff in the Basement.

The Altena family: Part Two
http://draltena.blogspot.com/2015/08/part-two_2.html
The Altena Family Welcome to our playground. Sunday, August 2, 2015. We celebrated Dylan's 5th birthday on July 10. He was excited to have a bug/worm theme. Grandma made her yummy individual "dirt" cakes and also a birthday cake. Dylan wasn't quite sure about us all singing to him that evening. But he was sure about opening presents! Aunt Hannah spoiled the kids by having sparklers that night. Dan was feeling quite left out back in California. We were counting down the days until he could join us. The Tr...

One Step Away...: DAYBOOK June 5, 2013
http://onestepaway-sonjav.blogspot.com/2013/06/daybook-june-5-2013.html
In my camera bag. Wednesday, June 5, 2013. DAYBOOK June 5, 2013. After blogging for quite a few years, I now recognize that I often turn to simple fill-in-the-blank entries when I haven't blogged for a while. It seems to be an easy way to start again after a long break. It is a cool, clear, spring night. We've just closed the windows so the main floor doesn't get too cold. About several decisions Pete and I have to make in the next few months. Gardens. We bought a bush and a few. I am looking forward to.

One Step Away...: Snow Day
http://onestepaway-sonjav.blogspot.com/2013/02/snow-day.html
In my camera bag. Friday, February 8, 2013. All four kids are home today and their schools are actually closed. That is very, very rare. It was blowing and snowing like crazy much of the day so I'm thinking it was a good call. Yeah, I got an iPhone and yeah, I'm going a bit nuts with Instagram, which I swore I never would do.). I don't think I'll go now, as the weather is still not great out that way, but maybe next weekend. Unless he's out of the hospital by then- we can hope! Thankfully Pete made it ho...

One Step Away...: Ten on Tuesday
http://onestepaway-sonjav.blogspot.com/2013/02/ten-on-tuesday.html
In my camera bag. Wednesday, February 6, 2013. 1 It's hard to believe we've been practicing for Easter for a few weeks already at Sunday School. Easter is early this year- it's at the very end of March. Wasn't it just Christmas? 3 It was so exciting at the tournament- the boy's team won the entire thing! And it was mostly Gr. 7 boys so they will have an awesome team next year too. 7 I've been bugging the owner of Yogurtz. 8 A couple of weeks ago, I went to visit Lucy in her classroom before going to the ...

Learning How to Live as we were supposed to be: April 2009
http://longing2live.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Learning How to Live as we were supposed to be. Remove what doesn't belong and the remaining is a good foundation to grow from. Youth Culture and the Church. We must challenge youth to think critically about the culture rather than mindlessly consuming it (which we must guard ourselves against also). To those too young or incapable of such a task we must be in such a developed, trusting relationship that we have earned the right to speak life and truth into their lives. Learning How to Live as we were supposed to be. Remove what doesn't belong and the remaining is a good foundation to grow from. Over Christmas break a song that dominated my mind was "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel". It is a song that so many people know from their childhood and sometimes tragic youth group Christmas charolling .
