Enjoying Di's Journey: November 2009

Thursday, November 5, 2009. Troop Cohesiveness in Jeopardy. In time of war, it’s important to have unity amongst the troops. Currently my two new WMDs are not able to work together. Stinky refuses to allow BooBoo Kitty access to the lower home front during the day watch. BooBoo is much more advanced at searching and destroying the enemy, but at this time we are only able to use her skills during the night watch. Wednesday, November 4, 2009. New WMDs Need Tweaking. Monday, October 27, 2008. Who Milked the First Cow? I often wonder who the first person was to milk a cow. Maybe it wasn’t a cow; maybe it was a goat or some other animal instead. I’d like to think it was God who showed Adam how to do it because the thought of some man (or woman) approaching a random cow disturbs me. I know it’s not a big deal today, but the first time it happened? Hmmm, still I wonder…. who was that brave cow? Sunday, October 26, 2008. Boogie Boarding and God. Step two - get into the wa...

Sunday, November 30, 2008. OMG, I Caught a Mouse! If so, then what are you supposed to do with the mouse once it’s stuck to the tape pad? Are you supposed to pry it from the tape and let it go? That would mean having to touch a live mouse and risk getting bit. Or are you supposed to wait for the mouse to die and then toss the tape pad, mouse and all? What would I do if it bit me? So, who was the ultimate victor in the mouse war? Saturday, November 29, 2008. There’s a mouse in my house. Rats! 1 Water free...

Enjoying Di's Journey: June 2009

Monday, June 29, 2009. Recently I started teaching Sunday school to a dozen or so pre-K and Kindergarteners. I’ve never really spent much time with a bunch of 4-6 year olds all at the same time, so it’s been quite an educational experience as well as loads of fun. Not to brag or anything, but my pupils are brilliant. I’m convinced one of my students is a sheer genius. Sunday, June 28, 2009. While walking to my front door one evening, I saw this interesting little toad just hanging out. Since it’...

Monday, February 16, 2009. What's in a Dream? People often ask “are you worried? What do you think about? 8221; Sometimes I worry, but mostly I just think about random nonsense. Usually, I forget about what I was thinking about, but last night, or should I say early this morning, I had such a ridiculous thought mulling through my mind that I decided to write it down just to get it out of my head. I wonder, what would Carl Jung think of this statement? Sunday, February 8, 2009. Last week I had a dear frie...

Enjoying Di's Journey: December 2008

Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Sorry, I Don’t Speak Acronym, I Only Write It. With my ever-increasing dependence on technology as a means to communicate, I’ve realized I’ve had to learn a new language – acronym speak. It seems the more I practice this language, the worse I become at my native American tongue. I prefer the old fashioned way of face-to-face conversation and am grateful for video chats, but that’s not always conducive to my surroundings. So, how do I feel about my new bilingualism? The fact th...

Sunday, January 4, 2009. What Would Grandma Think? I couldn’t help but think, what would my grandma think if she were alive today, standing in this room watching a typical day in our modern lives? Would she think we work as hard today as she did even though we don’t do the same physical labor? How would she feel about the fact that we spend more time working for others and less time doing our own work? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Dis' Journey Wordpress Latest Blogs. Thursday, March 26, 2009. Cell Phone Etiquette 101. It seems the more time I spend in public place, the less tolerant I become of cell phones. Cell phones have become a real source of annoyance for me even though I find myself relying on their use more frequently with each passing day. Cell phones annoy me because I’ve almost been killed by someone driving while holding a cell phone up to their ear. 1 Talk in a normal tone of voice when there are people sitting or standing anywhere near you. If you c...

Friday, September 18, 2009. I Created a Belly Monster. In my temporary living quarters, I share a house with a funny little canine named Prince. He’s different than most dogs I know in that he doesn’t crave attention like normal dogs. At first I thought he might really be a cat trapped inside a dog’s body because most of the time he acts more like a cat than a dog. Thursday, September 17, 2009. Wednesday, September 16, 2009. Enjoying Di's Journey: February 2010

Sunday, February 21, 2010. I thought I’d share what I actually think about while I’m on the bike. While adjusting the bike:. 8220;Okay, I can do this. This will be fun. I’m going to get in great shape.”. 8220;Lord, help me to stay on the bike for the full hour.”. 8220;Did I adjust this thing right? The people next to me seem to be peddling easier than me.”. 8220;Geez, this classroom is cold, maybe I should have brought a sweatshirt.”. 8220;I hope the instructor isn’t a masochist.”. 10 minutes into class:.
