The Ruoss Crew: March 2007
http://theruosscrew.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Feel free to laugh at us.not just with us! Sunday, March 11, 2007. No Coincidence, I'm sure. So right now I am pretty involved at church. I'm teaching the women's Sunday School class and I am also on the Natural Church Development Committee. That may not sound like much, but both are requiring a LOT of time and effort. Don't misunderstand, it's positive effort, but I definitely hope it eases up a bit before VBS. Then, last week the study actually was focusing on the names of God and how/why we should use...

Heart's Song: July 2012
http://godslyricalone.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 26, 2012. Obviously, this is not an exhaustive theology of corporate worship, just a couple of spur of the moment thoughts. This is a continuing discussion for us in worship. I would love to hear your thoughts. A call to worship for two readers). We meet here each week.We meet here to worship. We meet here to worship together:. And those from other countries. We meet here to worship together:. Democrats, Republicans, and Independents. The quiet and the boisterous, together. Not just for an...

Heart's Song: thinking out loud
http://godslyricalone.blogspot.com/2008/09/thinking-out-loud.html
Friday, September 26, 2008. I am starting to meet some other colleagues in town, which is cool. However, I am realizing that my extroverted self needs a social life. One of my favorite lunch friends (aside from staff and/or my Hubby) is moving today. She is off to OH to finish her PhD in microbiology, stuff beyond my understanding. My circle of buddies is getting geographically wider and immediately smaller (again! Oh well, enough whining. God is good. I love my life, bumps and all.

Heart's Song: January 2007
http://godslyricalone.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 24, 2007. Christ in the wilderness. He is reaching out to the Father, something I think we forget he had to do. I think we put Christ on this pedestal like he was never really. Tempted or hurting. After all, he was God. This painting reminds me that Christ is familiar with my suffering, whether it be from temptation, or stress, physical pain, or frustration. His answer was to look to the Father. Mine? I still like the picture, even if I haven't learned my lesson. The snow also means th...

Heart's Song: Jeremiah's Lament
http://godslyricalone.blogspot.com/2014/06/jeremiahs-lament.html
Wednesday, June 18, 2014. Preaching Jesus is a pretty good thing. Well, this week I texted the weekly question awaiting his response, just hoping I could say, "No, it's following Jesus." But I didn't get my chance. Oh well. Adapted from Jeremiah 1:4-19; 20:7-14. This is how You treat your people? You lied to me! You forced me to serve You. 8220;Before I formed you, I knew you.”. 8220;You are not too young.”. 8220;I have placed my words in your mouth”. 8220;I appoint you over nations and kingdoms”. I know...

Heart's Song: A drop of dew
http://godslyricalone.blogspot.com/2008/10/drop-of-dew.html
Sunday, October 05, 2008. A drop of dew. But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledgeof Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him -Philippians 3:7-8. Your broken form upon the cross, Your holy love expressed,. Stirs a passion in my soul, calling me to give my best. Calvary is the sea. Calvary is the sea.

Heart's Song: The Freezer
http://godslyricalone.blogspot.com/2013/02/during-season-of-lent-we-set-aside-time.html
Tuesday, February 26, 2013. This week our call to worship was a parable that was adapted from a real-life illustration by Max Lucado. In this case, I anthropomorphised the freezer in question. The parable was read as a call and was followed by a time of silent confession and a corporate prayer. If you want to check out the original, you can find it in The Applause of Heaven. By Max Lucado, Word Publishing, 1990. pps. 122-5. A Parable Adapted from the writings of (and with great apology to) Max Lucado.

Feel free to laugh at us.not just with us! Sunday, July 08, 2007. This is obviously not good! So, they have been working ever since to get him back on track, get his platelets. Up, etc. He is pretty week, but other than that, doing ok. Of course, the morphine drip helps : ). Hannah is looking forward to two weeks without her brother. She and Lily tend to get along a lot better when it is just the two of them, so we will see how it goes. We have finished our bathroom! Please continue to pray for my dad as...
