Faith, Service, and Growth. We Are Called to Act with Justice. We Are Called to Love Tenderly. We Are Called to Serve One. To Walk Humbly with God. Monday, February 7, 2011. The next step made me feel joyous as we were instructed to simply sit with guests. I was struck with how difficult accompaniment is initially. While the guests I sat with were friendly, I found myself unsure what to share of myself. What questions should I ask? How can I be open and honest, but not offensive? If it weren’t enou...

Friday, June 25, 2010. To kompton and back. This week Jake took a break from wood-chopping and I took a break from whatever I do that has been making me feel so busy lately even though I don't work or go to school, and headed east over the mountains to Spokane. Just for fun. It was our first visit in three years. The main purpose of our visit was pleasure, with sub-category Visiting with Friends Unseen in Too Too Long. It was very pleasant. Jake & Erin in Ecuador: on leaving
http://jakeanderininecuador.blogspot.com/2010/05/on-leaving.html
Wednesday, May 19, 2010. The time has come; Jake and I leave Ibarra next Monday, to fly out of Quito on Friday, May 28th. I have probably all the usual things to say: that I can't believe it, that we will miss it so much, that saying goodbye is awful, and that we are excited still for what lies ahead. Goodbye lemon trees, goodbye 40-cent red cabbage, goodbye vitamin D, goodbye girls, goodbye Patty, goodbye Juan y Esperanza. You have become so dear. Sounds kind of like Goodnight moon. Amy and Jonathan Hook.
