Sunday, April 15, 2012. The kids have been getting along really well these days. They have had multiple sleepovers during spring break, hanging out a ton, etc. Samantha begged to have another sleepover in Aidan's room tonight. I explained that she had to go to bed by 8pm because tomorrow is a school day (Aidan's bedtime is a bit later). She kept her promise as evidenced by the photo below. Monday, April 09, 2012. Waiting, waiting, and a new friend. He spent the rest of the day casting with various fake bait and the few minnows that were still alive trying to catch the "big one.". Aidan used Rahul's pocketknife to cut him in half (I could not do it) and we had our bait. I watched 3 fishing poles for most of the afternoon. fishing is sooooo boring! Saturday, December 31, 2011. New Year's Eve hike. It was 65 degrees today, so an outdoor activity was on the agenda! We hiked the trails in Briar Chapel for over an hour. Friday, April 06, 2012. More great report cards. We got report cards this week for the 3rd 9-week grading period. It is hard to believe there is only one more grading period for 1st and 2nd grade at our house. Lets start with Samantha: above grade level in reading and math, no areas that need improvement. First, the incident with the flying thing that stung him in the eye (his follow up appt to check his cornea is Thursday after school). Next, he discovered the aquarium. Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Lake-ation comes to an end. I was super sad to leave the lake house today. But, I know what everyone. Is eagerly awaiting is a fish update :-) Sadly I have to report that I did not catch any catfish last night. This is what I found at the dock this morning. Yep, both poles GONE. I had them tied to the dock, so whatever took the bait must have been BIG. This just made me want to come back and fish more.with better poles and line. Let the research begin! Wednesday, April 18, 2012. New door and fresh greens. Our front door has not worked properly in a while. Also, the last time it was stained the painters let it drip at the bottom. So, we decided to upgrade while we had folks here building the workshop. Check out the before and after pic. For dinner tonight we had some fresh greens from the garden: arugula and red lettuce.
