Kenya Handle This?

Saturday, November 5, 2011. As my time here draws to a close, I have been reflecting quite a bit on how much things have changed for me, both in Kenya and back at home in America (or should I say the “states” so I get used to saying that now). Sometimes you’re never told how much you are affecting someone’s life. I am lucky enough to have been told. It's 9:30pm and norm...

Kenya Handle This?: January 2010

http://www.kristiannfry.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Friday, January 8, 2010. Since I’ve gotten so many requests for a new post…here it is! The past month has definitely been an interesting one. I took my LPI (language test) towards the middle of the month and I passed with an intermediate level! That was exciting. It makes you really anxious though because they have a camera recording your sign and that just always makes me nervous. But it was a huge relief to know that I passed and I could focus on other things during training. Our travel to Nairobi for ...

Kenya Handle This?: June 2010

http://www.kristiannfry.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Saturday, June 5, 2010. Travels, Chasing Rats, and Friends visiting. So sorry to those who actually read my blog, I have been horrible with keeping it updated. Which means I have a lot to say. So the last time you heard, I was planning on traveling to the coast and then to Uganda and also Nairobi during my break in April. It was great. The coast = HOT! I wasn’t able to wear my glasses, so I couldn’t see details, but it was still really cool! I traveled to Kisumu this last weekend to work on a project and...

Monday, February 7, 2011. Bad Lesson turned good. So I said "we will not be able to finish before 4 if we start now. You really want me to come teach life skills? And she replied with an enthusiastic yes! I'll just say it was very nice to know that even though I thought that my teaching skills were subpar, my students seem to not think so :). Kenya Handle This?: The Crazies

http://www.kristiannfry.blogspot.com/2010/10/crazies.html

Tuesday, October 12, 2010. For a vacation, I met my mom and sister in London/Scotland! Leaving Kenya was kinda surreal and I had slight culture shock just at the airport in Kenya because there was so much candy from the states! Why cant that be found IN Kenya and not just in the airport! But the entire trip with my mom and sister was just wonderful and it was very very hard to leave and say goodbye again. 8221; Oh how silly of me, I must have forgotten I am in Kenya were everything happens at a glacial p...
