Adventures in Mexico: Jardín Borda

These are gardens with pools, fountains, cool plants and flowers. It’s almost like you’re in a jungle! It’s nice to just walk around and enjoy the piece and quiet. The coolest part is that it’s in the middle of the city and you would never know it was there otherwise. There is a little lake that you can take boats out on. I don’t know why you’d want to though, the water is very dirty. It wasn’t even blue; it was green! The ducks were very entertaining…to Sonya at least! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

What I learned about pyramids from my classes…. Here’s a funny story…. Cathedral of Mexico City. Salto de San Anton. CUERNAVACA - THEN and NOW. What I hid the first time I took the picture. The same palace - Palacio de Cortes. Eating at Las Mañanitas. I think we’re sitting in. Think its the same bunch of bananas?

This was probably one of my most favorite parts about the trip. Every Monday and Thursday we went to a class after school to learn Salsa in an outdoor dance floor. It’s tricky, but super fun! Here are some pictures of us in action. After 3 weeks, man, were we pros! Cliff and I did go to Los Arcos (restaurant/bar) to dance to a live band playing Salsa music…super fun! What a rad name! He was my favorite teacher; lots of laughs. He was actually my teacher when I was there 4 years ago and he actually remembered! That’s amazing seeing that I was only there for 3 weeks. So all he talks about is tequila and smoking, but he’s a funny guy. Sonya and I had a class together with him. As soon as we made it down, it stopped raining. Bummer. Oh well, the pyramid is not that spectacular (Elise and I saw it the last time we were in Cuernavaca). It was an adventure though! I've never actually had a white Christmas! On our drive back to Ephraim the snow was down-pouring and I was afraid we wouldn't make it back alive, but indeed we did! I NEVER fall asleep during movies (not even when I try), let alone my favorite movie! I really must have been sleep deprived. During my awake hours (ha), I tried to make a snow angel but the snow was just too powdery. Just glad I got to be home for both Thanksgiving and Christmas this year! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? I'm actually DONE with PA school. Where did the time go? I feel like I just started. I am also extremely glad to be done. Yes, even though I have kicked it in San Diego, Honduras, and Hawaii for rotations, the last two years have been intense and exhausting. Unfortunately I missed the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning as I flew to Ephraim that morning, but fortunately I put in my 4.5 mile run the day before. Roatan - Day 39. Then we all piled into the truck for a 30 minute drive up north to the Iguana Farm. J was a little hesitant about going since she thought the iguanas might try to bite at her feet and she wouldn’t feel them, but that wasn’t the case. We make a great team of PA Fellows - serious talent, intelligence, and enthusiasm. My parents even got to attend my YSA ward and meet Stephen, so that made them some happy campers! One Line A Day 2013. I made a resolution 365 days ago that I would write just one line a day (sometimes a sentence or two) every day for the whole year. I have FINALLY completed a new year's resolution that actually lasted the whole year. Looking forward to continuing the tradition! 1/1 Ringing in the new year with fever and chills. 1/2 I looked like death going to the grocery store to load up on top ramen. 1/4 Resolved to start studying and was doing a good job of it until D called 5 minutes into it.

Rotation #9 Honolulu, Hawaii. Well, you got the daily run down while I was in Honduras, but decided I couldn't, nor wanted to continue the daily write-up. I was too busy exploring the island!
