in metaphors: In a Land of Opposites
http://inmeta4s.blogspot.com/2016/09/in-land-of-opposites.html
Tuesday, September 13, 2016. In a Land of Opposites. I live in a world of contrasts. Slow down, speed up. Lean in close and listen, while running at break neck speeds. This is life with two boys, who are completely opposite from one another. The fog started to lift a few weeks ago (and by that, I mean the fog of having another new baby around) and all of a sudden I was given new eyes to see these two boys we are raising. I am endlessly fascinated by their differences and complexities. How to Eat a Cupcake.
in metaphors: September 2016

Wednesday, September 28, 2016. Do you ever feel like your drowning? You're kicking with all your might to stay above the surface and you are barely nose above water level? I don't know what happened. I thought I was managing 'it all'. With the 4 kids. It was hard, but manageable. But then the weight of school just slammed down over my shoulders and all of a sudden I just cannot manage. Oh yeah, and there is the potty training toddler and nursing baby who needs naps at home every 2 hours. People, we are k...
in metaphors: Transitions
http://inmeta4s.blogspot.com/2016/09/transitions.html
Wednesday, September 7, 2016. I feel like a child who is suffocating in a winter coat and shoved into a too-tight carseat. That's about the best description I can figure for what my internal world is feeling right now in the midst of transition. This is my sobbing fit:. What do you mean I have to drive my kids to school, every day? Sign a piece of paper? Check off homework completion every night? Drag my 2 year old and 4 month old back and forth to school what feels like every half hour? Transition can b...

in metaphors: 30 Years
http://inmeta4s.blogspot.com/2014/11/30-years.html
Tuesday, November 4, 2014. I could look back over the last ten years and ramble on about all the things I did and yet want to do. The places I went and long to go. I was planning to, you know me, make another list or two. But today I put on a different lens. And all I see, all I see when I look back along this path. I soared on great heights. I saw beauty unfathomable. I crawled through dark valleys. I limped. But I don't see those moments, those seasons. All I see is His presence. So many holy moments.
in metaphors: The Domestic Deficit [Part 1]
http://inmeta4s.blogspot.com/2015/02/the-domestic-deficit-part-1.html
Thursday, February 5, 2015. The Domestic Deficit [Part 1]. I believe there is an incredible phenomena in this generation of young mothers. I will call it the "domestic deficit." It has the potential to cause young women to become incredibly guilt ridden, overwhelmed, and depressed, perhaps more than any previous generation of young mothers. (Of course, this is based not on extensive research, but on anecdotal evidence, although maybe I'll research this one day? We are run ragged. We feel like we cannot p...
in metaphors: My First Button Letter
http://inmeta4s.blogspot.com/2012/01/my-first-button-letter.html
Wednesday, January 4, 2012. My First Button Letter. I've been wanting to be more creative lately to rejuvenate my spirit and help me through this rough newborn/new-to-having 2 kids season.and so I did a mini pinterest project last night:. Button letters for the boys' room! 250 for a whole big bag of green buttons at the dollar store (amazing deal). 15 for frame at home sense. I already had the scrapbook paper and the hot glue and voila. I printed a large size of the letter 's'. January 4, 2012 at 3:35 PM.

in metaphors: The Journey into Motherhood: Reframing our Experiences
http://inmeta4s.blogspot.com/2013/09/the-journey-into-motherhood-reframing.html
Tuesday, September 17, 2013. The Journey into Motherhood: Reframing our Experiences. I don't know if it's media, or if it's social media or what it is, but we certainly idealize the transition of a woman into motherhood. There's the beautiful baby showers, the cute baby clothes, the incredible family photos. there is certainly some kind of pressure to have the best experience. And I am no less guilty of perpetuating this false idea by the images I post and the experiences I share. The list could go on.

Sunday, May 8, 2016. When Dreams Die, so Babies Might Live. The Birth of Naomi Eliana Renae. Today is a reflective day for me as a mother. When I think back over these last 6 years, I am so thankful for so many things. As a mom, I get to be witness to the unfolding of lives, of personalities, that have never yet walked this earth. I get to hear first laughs, see first smiles, and kiss unblemished cheeks. I am undeserving of the joys of motherhood. I accepted the risks. I made the plans. I hoped f...For m...

Kristin and Blake
Welcome to our Web-Site! Blake and I met on March 3, 2006. Our friends Ilana and Nicole were the masterminds behind our introduction. Nicole and Ilana knew Blake from college and knew he was a really big fan of soccer. I knew Ilana and Nicole through work and they knew that I played soccer, so they decided that Blake and I should meet. After 8 months of hearing how good we would be together, we finally planned to meet at a Happy Hour thrown by Ilana. So I asked him to dance.

Whenever I ask him to tell me about his friends at school he tells me that she is his friend, ahh cute. I really think we hit the jackpot with this one.it's an in home preschool, (I wasn't thrilled about that idea at first) but just look at how cool her set up is. It's very classroomy. This year was the 30th.
