Saturday, November 17, 2012. Saturday, November 3, 2012. Around and About with Sandy, the superstorm! We were warned. We watched the weather station all day. We packed a bag for three days. We checked for flashlight batteries, bottled water and I added wine! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I am retired and enjoying it. Love to visit family and the many grandchildren. Sentimental Journey: September 2012
http://bettyrice.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 13, 2012. It's only 2:30 in the morning so I guess I could get in a good night's sleep if I was so inclined, hmmm? Tomorrow, I've invited an incredibly nice man for lunch and we will catch up on the goings on in our lives. Yesterday found me in the closet pulling out old picture albums. As I was at the Community Lunch today, wanted to take old pictures of friends in our younger days and it was a blast! Guess I thought I would remember. Ha! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Bonnie and David Williams: Picture update
http://daveandbonniewilliams.blogspot.com/2013/07/picture-update.html
Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Proof that my son does let me put him down every once in a while and will play by himself. I was washing dishes while he was playing and got to enjoy both of my hands for about 20 minutes. Emery gave Luke a blue sucker from the 4th of July parade. He thought it was pretty awesome. He was a fur covered sticky mess pretty quickly and required a bath. Luke eating a banana this morning. He looks pretty intense. His favorite pose - up on one knee. Eating an orange. Random. Lots of fu...

Sentimental Journey: When I was young - Part 2
http://bettyrice.blogspot.com/2013/01/when-i-was-young-part-2.html
Monday, January 21, 2013. When I was young - Part 2. I didnt know Grandpop worked as a welder! He could do just about anything, couldnt he? We used to walk everywhere when we were kids, too- I remember walking from base housing to the Caf or the theater, and in Germany walking along the flight line where the planes would just about land on our heads- at least thats what it felt like. Sentimental Journey: When I was Young...
http://bettyrice.blogspot.com/2013/01/when-i-was-young.html
Saturday, January 19, 2013. When I was Young. Kathi asked me today to discuss more about our youth. So here goes! Dad was the manager of a local baseball team. The games were held right down the street. I handed out soda to the team. (I also had a crush on one of the team members). One day, a donkey-game was held. Whoever was "up", had to hit the ball, jump on the donkey and hope he would lope around the bases that never happened. But, was hilarious to watch! Time to stop for now. View my complete profile.

Sentimental Journey: September 2011
http://bettyrice.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Let's have some chuckles! Periodically, my kids and I come up with funny names which sends me into peals of laughter. I guess the ones I remember most are those from the American Indians. As I mentioned in a former post, I stayed at Chincoteaque Island. I saw that Susan mentioned the Tallahatchie that had to be from the same source. And, how about Tallahasse? There's Mannahawkin, N.J. and Forked River. Forked is 2 syables. Sentimental Journey: February 2012
http://bettyrice.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 13, 2012. We used to walk to the movies every Saturday afternoon. The theater at that time was across from the railroad crossing. On one side, was a Cleaners and the other, a Drugstore (pharmacy) with an ice cream parlor. The matinee started at one o'clock. For ten cents, you were rewarded with previews, a cartoon, a continuing serial and the main feature. I was "in love" with the usher (oh yes, we had them). His name was Mario Martamona, a good Italian boy! Friday, February 10, 2012.

Sentimental Journey: July 2012
http://bettyrice.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 12, 2012. Today, I made Blueberry Muffins but they were terrible! I used the basic muffin recipe with fresh Blues and they were too heavy for the mixture. So gave them to the birds! I always use them with Cobbler and they turn out fine. Guess I better stick to that and Brownies. I found Brownie tins at Boscov's and they had "separaters" in the pans. Great! After all, I'm not 39 anymore. I'm not? Keep forgetting to get my rocking chair rocking! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
