Fresh reviews of books and other texts. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (Benjamin Alire Saenz). June 28, 2014 4:00 am. I really enjoyed this novel, not only because it addresses LGBT issues. And two different families and their expression of their Mexican heritage. Saenz’s writing abilities went beyond my expectations of most authors. I also enjoyed his use of Ari and the language surrounding this point of view character. Discussing the role of the parents is somewhat atypical.
