flibbityfluent: January 2005
http://flibbityfluent.blogspot.com/2005_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 30, 2005. Some stories are more difficult to tell. Recently, it involved childhood friends, a wedding, and a few story threads that have dangled, sparking like downed powerlines on a country road. Well, weddings are public things, and lots of people were viewing a lot this weekend. I'm being veiled about this story in some silly ways. I wonder if it's even worth finishing this. Posted by Steve at 11:00 PM. Thursday, January 20, 2005. Simple associations of the English. He continues loudly...

Wednesday, April 27, 2005. Absence and the flaming 4. Good to be back. Posted by Steve at 7:59 AM. Tuesday, April 05, 2005. When I am old. I was struck about something in conversation with Carlen, tonight. If I make it to senior citizenship, I'm not going to gather my grandkids around the fireplace and share with them all the great nights of sleep I enjoyed. Like a drunk japanese steakhouse owner kicking my friend's car. Now, to find: ho me o sta sis (hō'mē-ō-stā'sĭs). Posted by Steve at 11:47 PM.

Friday, March 28, 2008. Can you imagine what it is to cross an ocean? For weeks you see nothing but the horizon. Perfect and empty. You live in the grip of fear. Fear of storms. Fear of sickness on board. Fear of the immensity. So you must drive that fear deep into your belly. Study your charts. Watch your compass. Pray for a fair wind. And hope. Pure, naked, fragile hope. Sir Walter Raleigh (Clive Owen) from the movie "Elizabeth: The Golden Age". Posted by Steve at 10:56 AM. 1/2 Pirate, 1/2 Monk.
flibbityfluent: June 2005
http://flibbityfluent.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 29, 2005. Bill said we rocked. From the bizarre files of things I've seen in NYC. We were at the last speaking engagement for Billy Graham (state-side) in Flushing Meadows, near Brooklyn. As I glanced around I saw Charles Schumer, powerful congressman, and Mayor Bloomberg shooting the breeze. Personally, it was really enjoyable to see a lot of flame-hot partisan republican folks squirm. Afterwards in the lobby of the hotel we stayed at, it was interesting to get veiled reactions. Also - w...
flibbityfluent: Results not typical.
http://flibbityfluent.blogspot.com/2008/03/results-not-typical.html
Monday, March 17, 2008. I love that phrase - usually accompanying some guaranteed-ground-breaking-change-your-life-patterns-for-the-best-solve-your-problems product. Only subtly. Like a mumble at the end. Oh.by the way.don't get your. Specific hopes up that this will work for you. The most groundbreaking thing I've heard in '08 so far, (besides Obama's "yes we can") is that life is difficult. Much of not only. How to shepherd them towards a lasting work, and that peace that truly passes all understanding?
flibbityfluent: October 2004
http://flibbityfluent.blogspot.com/2004_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 23, 2004. So this IS the new year. So, I just got Death Cab's record. Yes, this is a late purchase. Not as current and cool as I'd prefer. But, come on, if one breaks ground all the time, wouldn't that get dull and uninteresting? Which leads to - ANOTHER blog? Not so groundbreaking, either. Why this, why now? I'm assuming at some point there will be a community invited. Not sure when I'll throw that party. Until then, thanks for checking in and being a part of the story. Naked As We Came.
flibbityfluent: Vacational calling…
http://flibbityfluent.blogspot.com/2008/06/vacational-calling.html
Saturday, June 28, 2008. Every day there seems to be a new welling. And a new assertion. I’m seeing my life and some of the pieces shuffle about in ways that lead to the biggest smiles I’ve had in yearsand some of the most healing tears. I amwe areprisoners of hope. Those who are bound to belief. This morning, John O’Donohue offered words to these indescribable feelings. FOR A NEW BEGINNING. In out-of-the-way places of the heart,. Where your thoughts never think to wander,. I have glimpsed this terrifyin...

flibbityfluent: March 2005
http://flibbityfluent.blogspot.com/2005_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 28, 2005. I have been doing interviews for the last 3 days, and I feel like I’ve said the same thing over and over again. I know that when I write, I intend towards saying something a tad prophetic, honest, and compelling to those who click here. I may be repeating myself. A new friend, Robert, said something a few months ago that it’s taken some time to truly understand. It seems to make sense of that feeling, especially in regards to our skeletons, scars, or familiar haunts. For me, this ...
flibbityfluent: November 2004
http://flibbityfluent.blogspot.com/2004_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 25, 2004. A quote from Jeff Goldblum, acting in the prehistoric-action-packed thrillllller, Jurassic Park. There's no explanation attached. It's just life. This was particularly relevant to me recently, as the holidays are upon us. Somehow, we get to celebrate, at least once a year, together, the "life, finding it's way.". For all of life's dysfunction, there is a great gift lying there in the midst that I could miss if I got too hung up on the politics of it all. And had to pass it on.

So I'm a Runner...
So I'm a Runner. I just ran my first marathon and here's what has been happening since. Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Well It seems the magical spot that I originally had this x-ray taken in the fall for is acting up again! I think its a terrible shin split. 3/4 the way up inside left calf. BOO. It goes away after I start running, but it hurts walking around now. Im on my hardcore RICE plan- with I standing for ibuprofen and ice! Monday, January 26, 2009. Anxiety and Mood Disorders. KRISTIN RUSSELL, Ph.D. The Red Tent Therapy Practice for Women. The Red Tent Therapy Practice is a place for women to learn how to offer themselves the same love and concern they offer others. Through over 20 years as a therapist, I have learned that for most women, caring for oneself is not intuitive. While women often mistake self-care as “selfish”, self-care is essential in successfully regulating emotions and staying healthy.
