Too Much Talking. Not Enough Listening. I need to speak (again) about things that I lack expertise on, and therefore about things wherein I am NOT an expert. This isn. T so much about the issue, as it is about the process of addressing the issue. In that article (. I attempted to avoid taking sides, because. Trying to propose a better response: we need to love one another. 8221; inferring, of course that “Anybody who sees this differently is deceived! 8221;) because we’re not used to hearing real p...

Avoid Evil, not the Appearance of Evil. The Bible doesn’t actually tell us to avoid every appearance. It says to avoid evil. Of evil. We avoid the evil itself. Yeah, the translation from 400 years ago (King James) mis-translates yet another passage. The language today is different than it was in 1611; the words mean different things nowadays. (This is why I cannot trust any teaching that relies on the KJV to support it.) This is one place where that change makes a difference. He wasn’t afraid to ha...

Remembering the Great Commission. We've misinterpreted the Great Commission, I think. We're called to introduce people to Jesus, but sometimes it seems that sometimes we forget. Sometimes, we end up introducing them to our club, to churchianity. To religion. Ewww. They're looking for real relationship, and Jesus offering real relationship, but we're offering membership in a Sunday Morning Club complete with its own foreign language and foreign culture. "Bring your friends to church! What's up with that?

Some Experiences with Judgment in the Courts of Heaven. I’ve learned to trust him in that place, and so I didn’t resist him, though my sitting in that chair was more of a novelty that first time than it was about actually judging anything. Since then, I’ve begun to learn some things about judgment, how important it is, how powerful it is, and especially how very good it is. It’s better work than I first feared it would be; I’ve actually come to love that bench. There was one day, though, that I still sha...

The Pilgrimgram: Gifts from Father, Son & Holy Spirit
http://www.pilgrimgram.com/2009/07/gifts-from-father-son-holy-spirit.html
Gifts from Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This is not - as will be obvious - a complete teaching; this is a subject that will swallow whole books in one gulp. This is just some raw material, looking at the subject from a viewpoint different than I've heard before. But as I get to know Him/Them, I find that they have three different personalities as well. And the gifts that they give are different as well. The most common gifts that we talk about are the gifts of the Holy Spirit. In 1 Corinthians 12. And ga...

The Wordless Prayer of Faith. It happened during a gathering in our home. We’d had dinner some time ago, finished the dishes together, and now we were gathered in the living room, with mugs of hot tea, and the warm glow of good friendship. We’d just finished praying for one person, and they got up from the “hot seat” (really a “hot hassock”: a place for them to sit in the middle of the group, so we could all see and all lay hands on if called for). And her laughter continued. She tried, for a moment,...

A Purpose for the Battle Against Us. War, it has been said, is hell. It gets tiring. I find myself looking forward to the end of each battle. I don’t plan to, but I find myself considering “life without a battle raging around me” as a sign of success. Whew! I don’t think Father agrees. In fact, I’m going to go so far as to say that sometimes the battle that I’m in right now, especially the battle that I didn’t expect. I’ve heard this taught as a promise we just need to claim: “Receive it by f...I donR...

Staying Current with Spiritual Technologies. Here you see the nearly 18,000 vacuum tubes and 6,000 switches of the ENIAC. The first electronic computer. This was once considered the pinnacle of technological perfection! The first machine that could calculate. How very impressive. It was the best thing EVER! This device was very expensive, took up an entire room, generated an immense amount of heat, and, based on vacuum tubes, it was nonfunctional about half the time. But the Spirit is not through moving.

The Bible makes it abundantly clear. We are no longer bound by the Old Covenant. For example, in Hebrews 8, the author argues forcefully and at length that the Old Covenant has been replaced. 8220;In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.” (Hebrews 8:13). A covenant a "kingdom of priests and a holy nation”" covenant (Exodus 19:6), but. Turned down that covenant. Continued to fail in covenant with Father. But w...
