Tales from the Krit: Never Underestimate the Value of a Good Colorist. EVER.

http://kritterkrit.blogspot.com/2010/12/never-underestimate-value-of-good.html

101 Things About Me. Sunday, December 19, 2010. Never Underestimate the Value of a Good Colorist. EVER. Thanks to the recommendation of a longtime blog reader (who, interestingly enough just happens to live in the same town as I do), I am no longer Snow White. Nor am I Jon Bon Jovi. I am happy to report, I am me again. I have been reunited with my normal hair color. And let me tell 'ya, it feels. December 22, 2010 at 8:20 AM. December 22, 2010 at 4:43 PM. Your eyes look amazing! And so does your hair!

101 Things About Me. Friday, October 29, 2010. Oh, and yes, some things. Happy Halloween, everyone! Sophie-ism Of The Day :. Just discovered Sophie (playing in the sprinkler) holding a ziplock baggie full of suspicious-looking liquid. As soon as I opened the door, she yelled out, "Don't worry, Mama! Oh, heavenly days.

Tales from the Krit: About

http://kritterkrit.blogspot.com/p/about.html

101 Things About Me. We have a sweet and spunky five-year old daughter, Sophie, whom we adopted at birth. Until the age of four, she suffered from the dreaded r-word, to a need-to-rip-up-the-carpets degree (don't let the chipmunk- cheek pictures fool you). Her reflux was so severe, in fact, she wasn't a candidate for a Nissen. Being neck deep in the pukes all the live-long day sometimes stressed me out a smidge. Than put the ladder up to the roof on the particularly craptastic. These days, believe it or ...

An amateur photographer's adventures photographing Arkansas waterfalls. Daniel at Pam's Grotto. Daniel at Pam's Grotto. Wednesday, May 26, 2010. 3-27 My First Waterfall Hunt - Fallingwater Falls. When I got to Fallingwater Falls, this is what I saw:. Interesting view. There was a nice rock to set up on, so I was pointing in different directions to see what I would get.(1.6 sec, f-22, ISO100). See the ladder on the tree in the middle? 06 sec, f-22, ISO100). Notice the difference in the two pictures? I hav...

Waterfall Hunting: 5-30 Slippery Falls

An amateur photographer's adventures photographing Arkansas waterfalls. Daniel at Pam's Grotto. Daniel at Pam's Grotto. Thursday, November 4, 2010. After scrambling up the water slide with just my camera and tripod, I was finally in position. This rock helps form a pool that is about waist deep. (0.4 sec, f-22, ISO800). You can see why this is called a slot canyon. (1/6 sec, f-22, ISO800). Try to imagine, if you will, a bunch of Boy Scouts trying to climb this. (2 sec, f-29, ISO100). My first rendition o...

Waterfall Hunting: June 2010

http://arkansaswaterfalls.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

An amateur photographer's adventures photographing Arkansas waterfalls. Daniel at Pam's Grotto. Daniel at Pam's Grotto. Friday, June 25, 2010. This was a Dad-Daniel hunt, our first with just the two of us. We decided to head to Pam's Grotto, which is very near where we finished hunting last week. The trailhead is about a mile from the Haw Creek campground. The parking area is right next to Haw Creek, so we ventured down there to see what we could see. You try it. (1/5 sec, f-18.2, ISO800). An amateur photographer's adventures photographing Arkansas waterfalls. Daniel at Pam's Grotto. Daniel at Pam's Grotto. Friday, August 6, 2010. 5-21 Brown Creek Cascade, Forked Mountain Falls and Twist Cascade. I left work on a Friday and went to pick up Daniel. We headed out Hwy 10 west of Little Rock. There were a few waterfalls out in the Ouachita Mountains that I wanted to explore. I only had time to shoot 7 images. They were all essentially the same, just bracketed exposures. By the time we got back...

An amateur photographer's adventures photographing Arkansas waterfalls. Daniel at Pam's Grotto. Daniel at Pam's Grotto. Tuesday, July 27, 2010. 5-8 Seven Hollows Grotto. We saw a few pretty wildflowers including this thistle. (1/30 sec, f-8, ISO400). The day was bright and sunny, which doesn't help the photography aspect. This little stream was almost dry, but it gives a good sense of Arkansas in the spring and summer. (1/30 sec, f-4.5, ISO100). 1/30 sec, f-5, ISO100). Ahh, the wonders of Photoshop!

Waterfall Hunting: 5-29 Twin Falls, Clemmons Hollow and Mossy Falls

http://arkansaswaterfalls.blogspot.com/2010/11/5-29-twin-falls-clemmons-hollow-and.html

An amateur photographer's adventures photographing Arkansas waterfalls. Daniel at Pam's Grotto. Daniel at Pam's Grotto. Wednesday, November 3, 2010. 5-29 Twin Falls, Clemmons Hollow and Mossy Falls. The next day we floated the upper end of the Buffalo, from Steel Creek to Camp Orr. There was barely enough water so it was a bump and grind day. We stopped at Hemmed-in-Hollow, which is the tallest waterfall between the Rockies and the Appalachians. Papa staring at the falls. (1/50 sec, f-1.8, ISO100). Our l...

An amateur photographer's adventures photographing Arkansas waterfalls. Daniel at Pam's Grotto. Daniel at Pam's Grotto. Monday, November 29, 2010. 6-1 Little Missouri Falls and Crooked Creek Cascade. After a weekend of waterfalls galore, I wanted more. After work I headed to the Little Missouri Falls southwest of Hot Springs. This is a nice little area for people to swim and beat the heat of the summer. It was just a lazy summer day for them. (1/30 sec, f-16, ISO400). Same position as earlier, wider and ...

Jewels, Joys and Junk: July 2009

http://sillyjillychic.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Jewels, Joys and Junk. Friday, July 10, 2009. 4th of July Festivities. We headed to a friends house where we cooked out and shot skeet. The kids had a ball eating hot dogs and cheetos and drinking kool-aid. They were FILTHY, but hey- that is part of the fun- right? The older kids had dirt bikes. Some of them took our kids on VERY VERY SLOW rides. Jake was absolutely beside himself! So just pretend I don't look quite so."lovely". Needless to say- we came home, took baths, and crashed! Jewels, Joys and Junk: I'm a Pioneer Woman--NOT!!

http://sillyjillychic.blogspot.com/2009/06/im-pioneer-woman-not.html

Jewels, Joys and Junk. Tuesday, June 23, 2009. I'm a Pioneer Woman- NOT! So here is the recipe:. 1 bar of unscented soap (I use Ivory as recommended). 1 cup of Washing Soda. 1/2 cup of Borax. I use a grater to grate my soap. Then I add the other ingredients and mix well. It only takes 2 Tablespoons per load (and only 1 for a light load). The other thing I am doing is using a clothesline to dry my clothes. I have become quite the pioneer woman. But- I must keep my A/C though! June 23, 2009 at 11:24 AM.

Tales from the Krit

101 Things About Me. Wednesday, March 7, 2012. As most of you know, Sophie had been praying for a baby brother or sister almost since she was old enough to talk. She was ready. We were all ready. In theory. But when the phone rang that night and a friend called to say she had "a situation" to tell us about, I didn't feel very ready. I felt very close to re-seeing my dinner. I want to do that.". I could hear my heart pounding in my ears. A baby! A sibling for Sophie! Dorcas is not a word-mincer, and for t...
