Kruger Canoe Adventures: It's all happening...

http://krugercanoes.blogspot.com/2015/04/its-all-happening.html

Tall tales from the pond and beyond. Saturday, April 25, 2015. Mark and Lauren saddle up for the Hughy; looks a little tippy compared to the cruiser; we'll see how they fair; not that I want them to dump it, but it DOES make for some good print! It's actually the first time I ever saw Bob Bradford put his paddle down; I would gather that Jim Woodruff was in the house (river left) and a salute to the Legend of Hughy was in order; big shout out to Pat Harington for forwarding me some pics. Its a banner day.

Kruger Canoe Adventures: September 2014

http://krugercanoes.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Tall tales from the pond and beyond. Tuesday, September 16, 2014. EnterThe Dragon (the warrior spirit). Having just arrived from Misfit Island - we were a bit perplexed on the complexity of Dragon Boat Racing; new terms entered weary minds - Hold, five and dime, power surge in 3 and let'er run were new to our vocabulary. Team Kruger would like to give a shout out to the organizers of the event and bring awareness to their cause - to the survivors everywhere from domestic violence to cancer. Au Sable Rive...

Kruger Canoe Adventures: C2C'd Déjà vu event

http://krugercanoes.blogspot.com/2015/04/c2cd-deja-vu-event.html

Tall tales from the pond and beyond. Friday, April 17, 2015. C2C'd Déjà vu event. So Jack "the hammer" dropped in unexpectedly and decided to do the C2C course - again (Déjà vu); experiencing it for the first time, again. Michael Jackson we know where you can find a match for that missing glove. Clueless what this picture represents, but somehow it reminds me of something - Déjà vu I think that canoes are best paddled then pulled. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sailing and Paddling with Doug: January 2015

http://capt-doug.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Sailing and Paddling with Doug. Wednesday, January 28, 2015. There are always a thousand little things to finish at the end. I still have to enclose the area where the line comes into the cabin from the centerboard trunk (to keep the cabin dry, yet still have access) and I am building a mount for the aft nav light on the transom so that we aren't blinded at the helm. 38 days until the 2015 Everglades Challenge. Painted and varnished the cabin. Added gimbaled stove and tube for the end of the oars. Sailin...

Sailing and Paddling with Doug: January 2013

http://capt-doug.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Sailing and Paddling with Doug. Wednesday, January 9, 2013. Celebrations for a Grey day. I was paddling on Tims Ford this afternoon in a light rain with mist on the lake. It made me think of Mimi and Dick Farina's Celebrations for a Grey Day. Dick was one of the most accomplished Appalachian dulcimer players of all times. I saw him play with Joan Collins in a little club in Boston in 1965. He died in a motorcycle accident the next spring. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Celebrations for a Grey day.

Sailing and Paddling with Doug. Tuesday, December 4, 2012. I think the sign fell in. The water wasn't that high. A small (18") alligator. A small part of a large flock of ibises. Thursday, February 26, 2009. Whitewood Dugout Canoes VII. Many of the early Spanish explorers of the Southeast, including Cabez de Vaca and the DeSoto chroniclers, note the use of dugouts, as did Roger Williams in New England and Captain John Smith in Virginia. Dugouts were used in the Hudson River valley and the coastal regions of New York, the Paciifc Northwest and Alaska. He then goes on to describe four dugouts that Cranbrook had in its collections:. Kruger Canoes - Manitou Cruiser

Kruger Canoes - Manitou Cruiser. Wednesday, November 11, 2009. Ultimate Kruger Challenge 2009. Story by Mark Przedwojewski. How did it feel to paddle the Great Lakes in the winter? How scary would it be to paddle the entire West Coast of the USA? After pondering these thoughts for a while the rainy, cold conditions we faced that day on our small trip did not seem so bad. We were all packed up and back on the water by 8 am, just as the wind and rain also started their day! I began looking at all the many ...
