Mauja hi Mauja - My semester in India. Thursday, July 29, 2010. 2 Weeks Out - Still wearing the Victoria Secret. That is certainly not to say I haven't had a freak out along the way, or my body hasn't hated me at all. The shots have been pretty grueling on my body, six vaccinations in all. And there is that 8% of me that is still freaked out of my mind. The West, PA in me is always just a little uncomfortable in these types of situations, but I'm getting better. Mauja hi Mauja - My semester in India. Friday, September 3, 2010. I take a rickshaw to school each morning since I live fairly far away from the campus. It is about a 20 minute rickshaw ride, which will cost you 40 Rs (rupees) in Pune City. An American who has lived in Pune for sometime told me that Western visitors to the city are most shocked by the traffic and by the bathrooms. I don't necessarily mind riding in the traffic, but it is a little intimidating with the way the Indian people drive.

I arrived safely to Mumbai. Then my program traveled to an orientation site in Durshet, Maharastra (the particular state of India that I will be staying in for the India illiterate). That’s how much time I have before I am back in the states, sort of, not really taking into account a 6 hour flight or the time difference. See what I'm doing abroad. Fall Break in England. 1 Month Left →. November 9, 2010. Last weekend my parents and I were in Barcelona. We walked around the city and did a lot of touristy things. Sagrada Familia. A church designed but never finished by Gaudí. The pope was speaking here on Sunday (we went on Saturday) so it was super crowded with tons of barricades and police everywhere. After seeing Sagrada Familia we went to La Pedrera, an apartment building also designed by Guadí. Fall Break in England.

On my favorite holiday of the year I was honestly not too excited about being abroad. I almost didn’t study abroad in the fall because of Thanksgiving. Well, I don’t know how seriously I entertained this thought but you get the point; I really like Thanksgiving. After a very typical Spanish salad we got our plate of Thanksgiving food.
