It's a small town, with lots of modest houses, a few businesses, a school, a ball field, and a nice-looking mural. Neosho Rapids was founded in 1855 after a couple of false starts ( at first, the town was to be named Italia, and then Florence. Again, this little town had neat yards, a post office, a community center, and some old business and school buildings that have been converted into homes. Though a possible tornado. Hit the town about a month before our visit, we didn't see a lot of lasting damage.
