A Collaboration in Anonymity
April | 2009 | K Street Confidential
https://kstreetconfidential.wordpress.com/2009/04
A Collaboration in Anonymity. Archive for April, 2009. Older Entries ». Blog idol, blog of love, blogging with the stars. April 30, 2009. I own a TV, but I do not get cable. I use the TV to watch movies on the rare occasion that I rent a movie to watch. Other than that, the flat screen floats mid-wall in my living room. I don’t miss watching TV shows. So few are imaginative, engaging, interesting. What do I miss? But I don’t miss it that much. Because now blogging is my reality TV. Reading a blog entry s...

A Collaboration in Anonymity. Archive for May, 2009. May 22, 2009. Sometimes, even though you think you don’t care about someone anymore, the littlest things can still cut you to the bone. Like seeing a status update they’ve “Officially become a D.C. resident.”. Because you didn’t want to move to San Francisco at some vague, undefined point in the future, you were told you didn’t have a future with a person you loved. How to really compliment a man. May 18, 2009. As the saying goes, I’d always thought I ...

A Collaboration in Anonymity. Archive for August, 2009. TMI Thursday: That Florida Chick With the Depends Wasn’t So Dumb After All. August 27, 2009. Hi, everyone, I’m Kimberly. I knew I needed to share this, but my own site is no place for it, so here we go…. Ironically, this TMIT. So, off we went. FYI, the town she lives in? We pulled up to the restaurant and I shit you not, I thought that it was closed! It looked all dark and there was not one car in the parking lot. Not a good sign at all! That was me...
February | 2010 | K Street Confidential
https://kstreetconfidential.wordpress.com/2010/02
A Collaboration in Anonymity. Archive for February, 2010. February 19, 2010. When Lloyd Dobler held that boom box up and blasted “In Your Eyes” for Diane Court, I fell for it. When Keith Nelson bought Amanda Jones that pair of diamond studs, I fell for it. Same thing when Jake Ryan pulled his red sports car in front of that church to find Samantha Baker. Grand gestures. They aren’t desperate, but romantic, not calculated, but passionate. They also only work in fiction. He has flown from Amsterdam. Oh, my...

A Collaboration in Anonymity. Archive for December, 2009. The Nose Knows… But Would. December 22, 2009. I need help, interwebs. Many, many years ago, I dated a guy. He was a good guy, the kind of guy I still occasionally check in with and say “Hey, how are things? How’s your niece doing? 8221; and the like. The romance itself is long dead and buried, but I certainly wish him well. Yeah This stuff is THAT good. And then, this morning, I was grabbing my cup o’ joe at Starbucks when…. I adore the smell,.

The Foggy Dew: December 2011
http://theliffeyswell.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
A little bit of revolution is good for the soul. Monday, December 26, 2011. Here's the situation: You're done with Christmas dinner at your brothers but, because his nights end a bit earlier than yours do due to his kids (who were adorable, I should add), what do you do? Going out drinking on Christmas night could be interesting, but that just seems a bit . not right. First up, a look back across the Potomac toward Rosslyn. It looks pretty good at night. I noticed this reflection while I had the memorial...
The Foggy Dew: So, July, yeah...
http://theliffeyswell.blogspot.com/2013/07/so-july-yeah.html
A little bit of revolution is good for the soul. Monday, July 22, 2013. So, July, yeah. I spent a couple of minutes trying to come up with a way to tie this post to Julius Caesar, inventor of the month of July, but drew a blank. Nothing there. Nada. Also, I'd written a bit of a rant about how slightly craptastic this month has been, but after reading it I deleted it. It sounded really whiny. So, instead, how about some pictures? Not too bad, eh? Labels: D.C. pics. July 30, 2013 at 10:48 AM. Your wish is ...
The Foggy Dew: July 2014
http://theliffeyswell.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
A little bit of revolution is good for the soul. Sunday, July 27, 2014. Long time no pics. It's been a while, hasn't it? There is a reason for that. Let's just say that I don't feel totally comfortable ranting and raving like I used to with the job I now have. It's not political or anything, but it's public enough that my opinions could be construed in ways I don't want them to. It may not force the owner to change the team's racist nickname, but the government shouldn't be supporting him in his racism.
The Foggy Dew: Fur-Lough Fotos Vol. 1
http://theliffeyswell.blogspot.com/2013/08/fur-lough-fotos-vol-1.html
A little bit of revolution is good for the soul. Saturday, August 3, 2013. Fur-Lough Fotos Vol. 1. As promised, here is the first iteration of Fur-Lough Fotos! I took the opportunity on my unpaid day off to head up to the National Zoo. The weather was beautiful for an afternoon outside, not too hot and not too muggy. An odd occurrence here in D.C. in August, so I had to take advantage. Probably the cutest of the animals at the zoo, the Asian otters. The orangutans do have one advantage, it's called the O...
The Foggy Dew: On my honor…
http://theliffeyswell.blogspot.com/2013/02/on-my-honor.html
A little bit of revolution is good for the soul. Wednesday, February 6, 2013. On my honor…. I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned this here before, but I’m an Eagle Scout. Yeah, big surprise, right? Suffice it to say, it’s not easy to become an Eagle Scout. Labels: Mildly deep thoughts. And no, it is not a surprise (at least to me) that you are an Eagle Scout :-). February 6, 2013 at 1:14 PM. The Foggy Dew: August 2011
http://theliffeyswell.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
A little bit of revolution is good for the soul. Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Stuck the landing…finally. Back in March I set goal, a goal I came tantalizingly close to during both June and July only to watch it slip through my fingers like quicksilver. Failure almost reared its head again in August, but I knuckled down and last night, somewhere across from Terminal B at National on the Potomac Trail, the trip odometer on my handlebars rolled to 25.00 miles. It was like the Tiger-slam of goal fulfillment.
The Foggy Dew: New look, new thoughts...
http://theliffeyswell.blogspot.com/2013/07/new-look-new-thoughts.html
A little bit of revolution is good for the soul. Monday, July 8, 2013. New look, new thoughts. What do you think of the new look? They say black is slimming. I figured a little change, a revolution if you will, might spur me into writing a bit more. And, thanks to congress, I'll have a little extra time on my hands until the end of the fiscal year. Twenty percent more time, that is. Labels: D.C. fun. July 9, 2013 at 1:06 PM. Congress spurs innovation and creativity? July 15, 2013 at 6:58 AM. The Book of ...
The Foggy Dew: March 2012
http://theliffeyswell.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
A little bit of revolution is good for the soul. Thursday, March 29, 2012. I cut it kind of close this year, but I did get out for the annual Cherry Blossom Photo Shoot. It was an iffy proposition, what with the blossoms all showing up two weeks early and disappearing a week before the start of the actual Cherry Blossom Festival. There's going to be a lot of disappointed people visiting this weekend and next. One thing I did decide to do was concentrate on depth of field. Rule of thumb:. I could go into ...

Life and Lessons from before, during, and after my time in the service industry. Would We Get Along Quiz. Better Angels, Flirtatious Demons, and Cocktails. I watched PLA walk by the picture window of the of the hotel bar. And reflexively ordered her a glass of champagne. Prior to that morning it had been nearly two years since we had seen each other; yet the indelible memory of her sipping champagne above and before all else was as fresh in my mind as what I ate for lunch. A mix of consternation, embarra...

K Street Confidential | A Collaboration in Anonymity
A Collaboration in Anonymity. July 10, 2010. I tell her I am going to watch. Over the weekend. Her response, “It’s frightening how quickly it can happen.”. It being adultery. It’s frightening how a martini lunch with a coworker or dancing with a neighbor can unlock the door for adultery. 8220;That’s the thing,” she says through tears. “He only wants me for the better.”. Weeks later, she discovers her husband’s betrayal. She’s right. It happens so quickly. We lean away to say our goodbye and instead of sp...
