ENED 3400 Professional Book Club. One idea that came from our discussion was that the teacher researcher is a vital role that all teachers need to take on. I think all teachers need to be constantly be investigating their students and their instructional methods to find better ways of teaching. Teaching is an evolving skill that needs to be constantly updated so that a teacher can be responsive to the needs of his or her students. 3 Comments ». On March 2, 2010 at 8:54 pm. Teacher Thoughts by Erin. As I read the first few chapters of. 8220;You Gotta BE the Book”. I heard Wilhelm send the message that teachers must RETHINK. It is easy to talk about such things in the comfort of a book club circle but when faced with the reaction of real administrators and parents, would I be able to stand firm in my beliefs? My answer to this question is a strong “Yes! They read a ...

I have been using it in a Language Experience Approach with my small group, and I am thrilled at the success we have achieved. I recommend checking out both the book and the technique, especially when working with struggling/reluctant readers and writers. Shaun Tan’s Website. You are c...
