Time to shift into a different gear. Friday, July 31, 2015. Newberry National Volcanic Monument. We started by taking a walk through the lava field. This lava came from the eruption of Cinder Cone that is right behind the visitor center. We then rode the shuttle bus to the top of the Cinder Cone. They have an fire observation tower up there. Time to shift into a different gear. Friday, August 14, 2015. Wine Festival and Kayaking the Yakama River Canyon. We all enjoyed the day and after a nice sunset we called it an evening. We had a great time visiting our son Michael, his wife Audrey, and their two boys Connor 4 and Cameron 10 months. I am so proud of my son and his wonderful wife. They have a great family.
