Homo Domesticus: August 2006
http://domesticus.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
The Life and Times of a Stay-At-Home Dad. Wednesday, August 30, 2006. Last week, you read about why Jacob got a new bike. This week may be about why I. I got about 100 yards before it fell off. I went to Lowes in search of the proper flange bolt. I found one that seemed right, but the fit was a bit funny. I was afraid to force the thing, and it was also looking like a special tool might be needed to do the job properly. So my attempt at self-repair was stymied. So I wound up at the place I had wanted to ...

Mean Green Cougar Red: My little gardens, continued
http://indotav.blogspot.com/2014/06/my-little-gardens-continued.html
Mean Green Cougar Red. The irregular and disjointed rantings and ramblings of a lifelong inside-the-loop Houstonian, dedicated urbanist, enthusiastic traveler and loyal University of Houston Cougar fan, who also roots for the University of North Texas Mean Green. Monday, June 30, 2014. My little gardens, continued. They might be tiny, but my two little 4'x4' gardens. Have been awfully productive this past month:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Mars Gets Women: Kerouac
http://marsgetswomen.blogspot.com/2011/01/kerouac.html
Random thoughts from #9 on the family totem pole. Friday, January 21, 2011. It's time. Wacko has fought the good fight, but time catches up to even the fastest of dogs. I nabbed him. Only to realize I was half a mile from Brenna's with no leash in my hand. And so I threw him over my shoulders in a fireman's carry and walked home, to the amusement of all the Janesvillians driving home from work (and the bewilderment of one confused dog). No matter we were headed. What else to say about this dog? He's alwa...

Homo Domesticus: April 2006
http://domesticus.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
The Life and Times of a Stay-At-Home Dad. Wednesday, April 26, 2006. The Ballad of The Shower Handles. But I digress. Get yourself a drink, this is a long one. Were equipped with levers, and I fell in love with them instantly. I realized I was really tired of knobs that you had to grab and twist to use, often when your hands were slippery with soap or raw chicken or mud or whatever. And then you had to grab them again to turn them off, getting whatever you had just washed off back. I turned the knob, the...

Homo Domesticus: Post Thanksgiving, Pre-Christmas
http://domesticus.blogspot.com/2006/12/post-thanksgiving-pre-christmas.html
The Life and Times of a Stay-At-Home Dad. Wednesday, December 06, 2006. Post Thanksgiving, Pre-Christmas. Sorry for the lack of updates. We had a busy November, including a wonderful visit by Trish's sister Leslie and her beau, Mike. It was Leslie who helped us so much in decorating our house, and she also had good words on contractor choosing and how much work to try and get done before moving in. I avoid buying her any sort of clothing more complex than a scarf. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Homo Domesticus: October 2006
http://domesticus.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
The Life and Times of a Stay-At-Home Dad. Thursday, October 19, 2006. It's funny being one of the Afterschool Moms. Well, I suppose I should say, one of the Afterschool Parents, but I'm pretty much the only Dad out there on anything like a regular basis, so…one goes with the name that’s already there. I mostly just sit and listen, though I do contribute. I am most uncomfortable, oddly enough, when things get silly, because, lets face it folks, guy silliness is not quite the same as gal silliness, and...

Homo Domesticus: Women's Clothing
http://domesticus.blogspot.com/2005/05/womens-clothing.html
The Life and Times of a Stay-At-Home Dad. Thursday, May 12, 2005. Women's clothing is a trial for me. And I don't even wear the stuff. How you ladies manage to put up with what strike me as complete absurdities without strangling every designer who ever held a pencil is beyond me. Luckily for me Trish is not the sort to read Dark Implications into these sorts of errors. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A radical moderate with conservative tendencies and liberal leanings.
