Sunday, September 30, 2007. Yellowstone and Grand Tetons, September 2007. Monday, September 24, 2007. Arrived in Billings, Montana, mid afternoon. Drove South to Cody, Wyoming, via the Beartooth Highway through Red Lodge. This is one of the best scenic routes in the country. It had snowed shortly before we arrived, so as we climbed to the summit, we encountered a snowy wonderland shrouded in fog. Closer to Cody, we started to see more of the golden Aspens the area is famous for in Autumn.

We had been to Lassen before tent camping with the Mertes's and the Zavanellis. Michael's partner, Jeff, has a cabin and offered to let us use it. Tuesday, September 01, 2009. July 10-12, 2009. Chapman creek Tahoe National Forest. 6,000 ft. Elevation. Nice host Diana helped us find these spots. We stayed in site 19. Jan, Chris and Graham stayed in 18. 19 closest to street. 18 had neat but steep hill to an overlook. Could see over the valley and the sunset. Had light rain in the afternoon and hail in the morning. Not used to camping at elevation with weather. 43 miles from Quincy and relatively close to Lake Tahoe. Made it to I-80 within 45 min.
