One developing function of Kultur Haus Helvetia is that of an emergency center. In a remote area like Helvetia, shelter, supplies, electricity, and communication can be disrupted for considerable periods of time. After Superstorm Sandy, the deracho of 2012, and similar outages, KHH has provided a central location for residents and visitors to access information and supplies. As funds become available and equipment is donated, the Emergency Center aspect of Kultur Haus Helvetia will be fully developed.

Donors and volunteers have made tremendous improvements in Kultur Haus Helvetia, both in the physical building and in the operations of the different units. A new rental agreement is negotiated with the Postal Service for an additional $275 per month. Property taxes are eliminated because of the 501C3 status saving approximately $800 per year. The Alpen Lodge at Kultur Haus Helvetia

The Alpen Lodge provides sleeping rooms with shared spaces in Helvetia, WV. The Alpen Lodge is located in the Kultur Haus Helvetia, the building which also houses the General Store, Post Office, and Mask Museum. One downstairs room and five upstairs rooms are currently available. While the upstairs sleeping rooms need little restoration, there is only one bathroom for six sleeping rooms. As funding becomes available, the area will be converted to four corner sleeping rooms, each with a private bath.
