I live in the part of of the country where there are four seasons and grilling in the middle of winter is not an option (although I tried it once, crazy me! 2 lbs pork shoulder, sliced into strips (approx. 1-in wide and 1/2-in thick). 6 cloves garlic, crushed. 2 cups light soy sauce. 1/4 cup brown sugar. 1/2 tsp pepper flakes (can be adjusted to your taste). This is Emeril Lagasse's recipe and it is very good. The turkey turned out very moist and still is even when reheated the next day. It is definitely a keeper. BRINED AND ROASTED TURKEY. 1 (10 to 12-pound) turkey. Brine, recipe follows. 4 tablespoons unsalted butter at room temperature. 1 large yellow onion, cut into 8ths. 1 large orange, cut into 8ths. 1 stalk celery, cut into 1-inch pieces. 1 large carrot, cut into 1-inch pieces. 1 1/2 to 2 cups chicken or turkey stock, for basting. 1 small bay leaf.

Polvoron Just Like Goldilocks. When we were still living in California, we were spoiled with having a Goldilocks store in the next town. Whenever dh had some craving for polvoron, we'd drive to Union City and stock up on different pastries. Whenever I or any of my relatives go back to Manila for a vacation, we would bring packs of polvoron as 'pasalubong' for dh and the kids. 1 cup sifted All-purpose flour. 1/2 cup full-cream powdered milk. 1/2 cup soft butter. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. 1/2 cup soft butter.

Pan Fried / Cooked. Is a sweet chocolate rice porridge served as breakfast or as merienda in Filipino households. Kids especially love Champorado because it is sweet and chocolaty, a great combination for children's palate. If the little ones can have their way, they'd want Champorado served for breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner and the next day's meals, even days after that. Now, one more thing that I especially love about Champorado. Like this rice swimming in cocoa sauce, my personal preference.

Here's another recipe that you can try serving your family for lunch and dinner. 1/2 Kilo Lean Ground beef. 1 small sachet of black beans. 1 can of coconut milk. 4 pieces of tofu, diced. Kangkong leaves, chop the stalks too. 1 sachet of Magic Sarap. 1 tablespoon of white sugar. 2 green finger chilies, sliced. Medium onion, chopped. What you need to do:. Fry the tofu, set aside. Heat the oil. Saute the garlic and onions.

Tastes Like Honey Baked's Cheesy Potatoes and Ham Casserole. Cheesy Potatoes and Ham. CHEESY POTATOES AND HAM. I highly recommend this potato casserole if you are tired of the usual mashed, scalloped or roasted potatoes to accompany your entree. 1/2 medium onion, chopped. 1/2 tsp. pepper. 1 1/2 cups milk. 2 cups shredded cheese. 1/2 lb ham, diced. 6 cups diced cooked potatoes. 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (optional). Preheat oven to 350. Begin by chopping the onion and parsley and cubing the potatoes.
